Yes, it would be nice, but the question is how?
I don't understand programming, but this does sound tricky.

I think bungie should create a way for the soccer ball to score points so that all of the soccer maps out there will become 10x better. Like give the soccer ball human traits so it can pass through check points and score points

Check out Operation Save the Chief

It would be a programming nightmare. Trust me.

While it would be a good idea, I imagine it would be extremely hard for Bungie to it. And rather than using their time for that, I'd prefer they keep making these amazing maps!

Cheers

The soccer ball could be a neutral VIP and the goals as the destination like on escort.
Still not sure how it would turn out though.:(

I can't see it being too tough. Not any harder than a Bomb on Assault, just make the "Goal" adjustable in size, and like Neutral Bomb, have the ball spawn where the Forger chooses with a Bomb-spawn point (or in this case, Ball-spawn point)

well, they could make a new gametyped called soccer, and have the soccer ball, w/ special properties (cant be deleted) and two scoring areas(can be moved, but not deleted). Then add a new map varient for each map. This could all be part of a large DLC (hopefully free) or it could just be a really large update.

OR

you could have som1 get inside a "soccerball vehicle" (would be kind of nice 2 see that from Bungie =) ) and give a point to the team who scored.... or you could play soccer w/ a mongoose on a rocket race varient =)

That would be great!

Probably not gonna happen, but who knows?

What I really want is a way to change the physics of the ball so it can actually do damage to the people it hits.

If anyone out there remembers Quakeball, then they'll know what I'm talking about.

i dont think it would be extremely hard to make the soccar ball scorable maybe a little tricky but i have dont a TINY programming in school and i know what they use in games is 1000x harder and more confusing but perhaps just making the soccar ball like a bomb that rolls?

GT: Greg Is So Hot

Get creative.
Raise the floor on Foundry, make a hole for a goal. Push the ball around the field, and when the ball bounces down the 'goal', it hits fusion cores or something, triggering them to go off. The fusion cores destroy a series of grates or something, dropping the floor into a territory which can be instantly captured by the player pushing the ball around, giving their team a point.

Eh... I guess it's more of a golf thing, but at least you have your game.

no way, this is a shooter game not a soccer game. if you want to play soccer thier are plenty of games out there for that.

Spartan 9x13 = Spartan 117

In the future, you will be able to enter the Louvre online or play Mortal Combat with a friend in Vietnam!

Simply call the soccer ball a flag, then call the goal a base, 1 flag ctf ta-da

Yeah I don't believe it would be too hard for bungie to do, since it seems a lot of people like the little fun side games you can create and play in between the seriousness of matchmaking... yes it's a shooter but also it's a platform for many other gametypes i.e. rocket race which brings back memories of play twistd metal
