I kinda noticed the differences in Marine armor from Halo and the Halo 2. The armor they're wearing in New Mombasa seems a little lighter and thinner. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, and they're green too. They have a weird helmet, just to top it off.

Very much so. It looks like just a flak vest and some knee pads. Gone, it seems, are the steel plates that the other marines were wearing. Perhaps there are different kinds of marines for different terrain types.

These might be city marines where staying behind cover and being maneuverable is of more importance. The marines back on Halo might have been meant more for the open field with their heavy plating. Since there's no cover to run to it's better to toughen them up.

It's like Batman's cape, it's made out of some freaky metal cloth that can reflect bullets. And this is why I think Batman sucks... That could never happen. Anyway, screw Batman, back to the subject. Maybe the have some thin metal armor under their clothes or something. Or maybe it's just what Draerden said, that sounds like a good idea.

Batman's cape does not deflect bullets. It's a long chain polymer much like Teflon that prevents bullets from penetrating. If Bats takes a good solid hit through the cape, it'll hit him like a jackhammer punch but it won't kill him.
