This was around when the Original Xbox first came out. I had recently moved from this one house, to the house we live in now, but we hadn't sold the old house yet, so we let a friend stay in it for a while. He had an Xbox and a bunch of games. I was staying over one or two nights, and popped in 007: Agent Under Fire, and he saw me playing it, and came over and said, "you know, I have a better game than that. It's awesome and fun", or something like that, and pulled out Halo: CE, and I put it in and started playing. I played it ALL night, playing the levels in the wrong order, not knowing it would be my favorite game of all time.

How about you guys?

My friend got an Xbox on launch day, and he got Halo with it. I went over to his house and played Halo for the first time. I bought my own Xbox and Halo two days later.

Hmm, I'm not sure about this. I have this obscure memory where I'm in a library checking out a game magazine and it mentioned something about Halo and Ghosts. I remember a friend of mine who had an Xbox talking to me about it.

The first footage I recall seeing using the Halo engine was the Red vs Blue PSA on the Internet, which was my first introduction to Halo and RvB, respectively. I watched the series ever since and it was only until years later that I played my first Halo game, which was actually Halo 2, in 2004.

My buddy from out of state had just gotten an Xbox and Halo for Christmas, and brought it to my house when he came to visit. We played it for the better part of a day straight. Next paycheck came along, and you can guess what I bought...

It was pretty late in the game for me, the receipt (that I kept ♥) says:
04/10/04 for $19.99
So I heard about it probably Februrary/March of that year, back in 7th grade when I met a few 10th graders who invited me over to play "this cool game". So I brought the jumbo controller that came with my Xbox (that I got the previous Christmas), and played with them.

I was immediately hooked, even if I did suck pretty badly. Eventually I got pretty good and was able to hold my own against some of my friends.

Now it turns out that my friend who got me hooked on Halo is ranked #1 in the state, and I think somewhere in the top 20 in the country.

All this made me love Halo: CE more than 2 or 3 ever.

I remember seeing the commercials for Halo: CE like when it first came out, but I paid so little attention to them I thought the game was about a ring structure that had been constructed around the Earth and humanity was fighting for control of it.

My friend had it and I began talking to him about it like in Febraury in 2004. That's when I learned what the game was actually, that Halo was really a super weapon, though even then until he went into detail I thought it was a subspace cannon, that could only kill the life on one planet at a time. I didn't actually play the game until two days before Halo 2 came out. Been hooked on the game since (in spite of all the Xbox Live BS that goes on).

I went to the cinema and to entertain people before the movie started or during the breaks, they had a couple of xbox's with some game-demos. One of the demos was Halo CE, the level the Silent Cartographer. I never heard of it(nobody of my friends did), but when I played, I instantly loved it. After the first half of the movie during the break, we played again and I decided to play Halo instead of watching the movie. My friends agreed and we played the beginning of the level over and over again.

To play or not to play....

At the store buying the original X-Box. I purchased it on the release day and Halo CE was one of three games i could choose from. So I got it as it looked pretty good. Up until then I knew nothing about Halo or Bungie.

I also purchased Bloodwake. Both games were good for a while but Halo CE became legendary and I still play it today. As for Bloodwake... I can not even find it anymore nor do I care to look too hard for it :p. Halo CE on the other hand... I lost my disk twice and purchsed a new one. Well actually I lost the disk once and scratched the other one. Then I found the one I lost so now I have two Halo CE disks.

Up until Halo CE I had never played any other game by Bungie. I can happily assert that I am a Bungie fan now. I have even gone back and played a bit of the Marathon series. Bungie is kind of like the silent achiever that comes along and knocks your socks off.
