I think there is a typo somewhere in the first line of this update because I don't think they ment Playing in "We’re playing the next batch of DLC. This first trio has been very well received." when it should be planning. I don't think they ment they are playing the next batch already when this was the first batch.

With them saying there will be plenty more maps to come soon including classics we should start up a new topic of which old maps we really want to have in halo3 and start a poll along with polls for locations and new forge objects they could use. I would love to see a map on a moon where it would have the gravity low for interesting games or a forge object like a pinata that you break with the hammer and weapons/grenades galore come out. jk

nice work on the new maps and can't wait til they are FREE

oh and too bad they weren't able to turn the soccer ball into assault bombs so we could have defined goals in each net for each team and it would blow up after each goal is scored like Grifball but more soccery. then the ball could just respawn in the middle and there would be no need for an impartial ref/monitor like the NBA that cheats and is half blind.

Subject: Forge is teh Best

"wart wart."

One way to make that huge wall in Foundry to become somewhat obsolete is by placing two sets of two-way portal along it so players can "cross" the wall via portals. Oh, and please fix the broke link in the Update Bungie.

And using Forge is gunna make me cry! It's damn hard using those two thumb sticks (I can manage, but it takes too much time). Which brings me to my suggestion... Bungie, we the community would love a 'glue' or 'snap' function (to hold objects in specific places even if it sacrifices a little 'exact' positioning) and/or a specific rotation function so we can rotate objects at given degrees. The possibilities with Foundry/Forge are obviously endless, but it does need to be more userfriendly. In fact, today all I did was Forge (though I didn't progress as quick as I'd like) - I didn't even play MatchMaking.

Keep it up Bungie.

Use this link to get the layout of Foundry for the forge. The link they used was broken but I found it anyway.

http://www.bungie.net/images/News/InlineImages2007/SpecialFea tures/FoundrySoccer/foundry.pdf

Edit:
Apparently if you copy it to this forum it breaks the link ??? but if you are looking for the normal link just go to the "Quick and Dirty Guide to the Heroic Maps" update.

The link will look like so:
http://www.bungie.net/images/News/InlineImages2007/SpecialFea tures/FoundrySoccer/foundry.pdf

You can also click on this link and choose to download the PDF version of the foundry sketch pad here:

Good luck with the creations.

I've watched the Halo 3 Files Forum a little. People are submitting maps every second of the day 24 hours a day. It makes sense that Bungie can not have played them all already. Bungie is only, from what I've read, 100 or so people. But with thousands of maps being uploaded per day, yeah, not every version of Grifball, Futbol, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Blitz, Rollerball, Hockey, Hili, Tchoukball, Murderball and Neutral Bomb is going to get its own spotlight.

That is very true, the sad part about it is that MANY really great maps get over looked by not just Bungie, but the community as well. I can honestly say that I try and download maps often but there are so many that it’s near impossible to try them all. A great example of this is a race made on Standoff by my friend Whiteblaze142. I know for a fact that more then 6+ hours were put into this map and that it is a very nicely laid out and enjoyable map. You not only do jumps, WALL RIDING and hairpin turns, but you also have some nice open straights that allow for takeovers. He had a few friends edit the map and try it out (myself included) and yet, it was not even on the front page for more then a few minuets and summarily overlooked.

A suggestion to make the map variant file forum area a little less cluttered, why not divide the maps by type? Example: Slayer, Race Tracks, Mazes, Objective, Misc… ect.?

This would allow people to find the style of map they are looking for without having to sift through the dozens of maps variants that they are not interested in.

PS: If you are interested in trying out the off-roading map try these links:

Version 2: I am not the maker of this track, whiteblaze142 is and although this version says otherwise, I take no credit in the making of this great map. (I have simply fixed some bugs and posted it as I have more time on my hands then he does)

Race Variant: Just the race variant used for these maps.

Bungie if you ever decide to do a grifball league you use things for incentives like giving tournament winners special things for their armor no im not saying give people recon but maybe a extra symbol on there armor or something simple if you felt like it you could give recon to the league champions but hey its just one mans ideas if you want me to go more in depth with my idea message me

Dunno why everyone is demanding Lockout, as Guardian is pretty dang similar to it already. One of my favorites in Halo was Hang 'em High. I've already seen a few good remakes of it in Foundry but it's just not the same thing in that small of a space.
