The battle rifle needs to be fixed.
The spray is seriously messed up, I don't know if other people have noticed but if you like do any movement while shooting the bullets don't go in one spot they spread out as a line. The BR is in general a inconsistent weapon which gives you the impression that it's weak and makes it less fun to use. If a bot was given 100 % hit accuracy and it had the Battle Rifle it wouldn't 4 shot every time under the circumstances, because you don't get rewarded for your good aiming. At least the other games stuck to a aiming system, like in halo 1 you lead your shots, halo 2 you just hit them, halo 3 mixture of both WTF do I do ?
The BR doesn't have the same consistency as the halo 1 pistol does over any range, where you can just 3 shot someone cross map, whereas on halo 3/2 your like CBA even if I hit them it won't register. Also it would be cool to have a much more meaty sound on the BR rather than it sounding like it's shooting popcorn (which it is). So for the BR overall make the hit-boxes better as well so if you hit them in the head they will actually die.
For new maps the usual like midship, warlock and sanctuary would work well. But seeing that you made these great maps, why don't you make even better ones? I think a lot of people feel really insecure about ruining a good map (e.g. guardian), hopefully you'll make them a lot more balanced with a touch of simplicity they lack, instead of shoving loads of lame shield doors and man cannons everywhere.
The melee system needs fixing, so that if you hit someone first just like in real life (duh?) they will get hit first. This will make the better player with greater reactions win rather than someone who randomly has more shield. I don't like the hard to distinguish lunge range you have set either it is just not consistent (like a lot of things) sometimes I will lunge relatively far and then at the same distance I won't lunge at all, in fact why don't you take away lunge all together( Apart from melee weapons)to eliminate this problem and just put a greater stretch of the melee like you did in halo 1, so melee's actually take skill instead of the lunge doing all the work for you.
On that note why do we have to be bored to death of going through the same old routine of pressing B a million times close range? Why can't we add more depth and excitement to the game by using button combos, the best thing you did to halo 2/1 you did by accident, why can't you make the game more fast paced/ fluid and like it used to be instead of putting delay on everything. I mean how stupid is that, your at a disadvantage close range when you a sword/hammer because of delay times when you switch weapons. This game is that slow it's like playing chess, you kill someone they kill you, it would be good if you could do more things in a situation when your on no shield, like buttom combos all you would have to do was put a feature in game setting which would disable using equipment and have the X button as cancel instead to cancel out melee delays for the more hardcore gamers.
And if you going to make the BR better you'll have to make the sniper better as well to balance it out.
