Fix the beatdown system.
Fix the BR spread, or make the maps smaller so the bullets actually hit where you're aiming.
Symmetrical maps.
Make it so video clips load as quickly as full gameplays do when watching it in theatre with friends.
Reduce the time it takes to switch weapons, especially for the sword.
^^ Most important things

Give the beam rifle a little more ammo.
Make the driver of a ghost more visible so it is easier to snipe them, like it is with the mongoose.
Reduce the power of the mauler a little.
Bring back the shots fired/hit stats.
Provide a few more options for the "weapons on map" setting.
Make the oddball and flag only kill in one with a jumping melee.

I was just playing "The Pit" last nite and looking out through the fence thinking to myself what a kool map that would be to play on the air feild with all the Pelician's. Maybe setting up two of them as a base and put some vehicals out there. Just an idea for the next set of maps I mean its already there and everything.

the only reason i bought halo was for team snipers
if it does appear as an option on matchmaking soon i will buy a real sniper and go on a deadly one

ok there are several things need adressing

most importantly, u need to fix the br. either because of the spray or cos h3 is generally less consistent than 2, shots dont seem to hit even when u aim them right. theres no need to reduce autoaim, thats fine as it is but just sort it out. same with sniper, although everything about the halo 3 sniper is good the only problem being the hit detection sometimes u hit and see the blood come out but noting happens. i suspect that is lag and latency. fix it

give us more forge options. alot more materials with more shapes, ability to change colour and UNLIMITED no. of items plus budget. if we need 250 double boxes why shouldnt we have them ????

i think the melee system is still screwed up. the halo 2 melee system worked perfectly, and never gave too much of an advantage to the host. the halo 3 melee system just seems really wrong and everyone has noticed, the whole "most shield wins" or whatever that just doesnt work. im not sure what you changed, but whatever it was change it back, it was 30000% better as it was before, did anyone ever complain about h2 melee system ?? no. i appreciate u try to improve but there was no need and in trying to u have made close range encounters a farce pretty much

button glitches. bxr's double shots bxb's all of that i know u as bungie never backed them but the simple fact is they made the game better and i dont think anyone who played halo properly will disagree. also being able to whip out weapons and use them almost instantly is a very important factor.

This next one is important to me: make controls 100% customisable. as in make it so we can make whatever button combinations we want. for example at this very moment i cant find the right combination because there arent enough options, none of them are right for me. bumper jumper has reload on the wrong button, default and boxer have the wrong action button. make it 100% customisable or atleast make every *reasonable* combination possible and give them all names, and have a thread where people can add potential new combinations that you can judge for yourself and upload on a weekly basis (this is if u cant make it 100% customisable)

and a big one: halo 3 maps have been a disappointment, im not going to lie. bring back midship, lockout (guardian just doesnt work well u guys know it) chillout prisoner beaver and whatever u think should be brought back.

also i think u guys (having made the amazing classics such as middy lockout and chillout) should be able to make better maps than the halo 3 maps currently there. You know from listening to pros that none of them are up to par with the standard of maps we played halo 2 with.

i know alot of the stuff i have said there makes halo 3 mroe like halo 2 and u guys dont want that. you are bungie; u made these games and you have the potentail to make sure that halo 3 is the best which it should be (although atm halo 2 > halo 1 > halo 3)

make sure you know who to listen to. dont try and act like mlg arent the people u should be listening to. please

Midship (Halo 2)
Halo 2's Midship is a map in which things really fall into place. It has several fundamental attributes that contribute to a great multiplayer shooter map, such as symmetry, circularity, and a general structure that doesn't lend itself to camping or excessive fortification. In Halo 2, it is exceedingly rare that one map works well for several gametypes, but Midship provided an exciting, balanced match in Team Slayer, Oddball, Neutral Bomb, and Capture the Flag—a true testament to the quality of its design. In Halo 2, team-shooting was the key to controlling a map and winning battles, and Midship was just the right size so that you could help out your teammates in a gunfight from almost anywhere. Add these factors together and you end up with a masterfully designed map that remains fresh after even thousands of games. Also this falls under both categories of maps you are contemplating to create (Competitive arena maps AND remake)

1.) Chill Out (Halo: CE)
Chill Out’s presence in Halo: CE has arguably changed the face of multiplayer console FPS’s indefinitely. Although completely asymmetrical, any particular area of the map can be accessed within just a few seconds, either on foot or via the map’s three portals. The map has played host to some of the most legendary 2v2 matches in MLG history, in which the OGRE twins are said to have never lost a match. Die-hard Halo fans and casual gamers alike tout the joys of Chill Out and it was already honored as MLG's top Halo map in a recent poll.

man i know this update is cool and all....but why did ya have 2 change the original maps man?!?!?! i was so confused in matchmaking i was on narrows and the only thing i could think about was "were the maulers go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and while i was standing there ......i got shot in the face with a sniper..... =[

The battle rifle needs to be fixed.
The spray is seriously messed up, I don't know if other people have noticed but if you like do any movement while shooting the bullets don't go in one spot they spread out as a line. The BR is in general a inconsistent weapon which gives you the impression that it's weak and makes it less fun to use. If a bot was given 100 % hit accuracy and it had the Battle Rifle it wouldn't 4 shot every time under the circumstances, because you don't get rewarded for your good aiming. At least the other games stuck to a aiming system, like in halo 1 you lead your shots, halo 2 you just hit them, halo 3 mixture of both WTF do I do ?
The BR doesn't have the same consistency as the halo 1 pistol does over any range, where you can just 3 shot someone cross map, whereas on halo 3/2 your like CBA even if I hit them it won't register. Also it would be cool to have a much more meaty sound on the BR rather than it sounding like it's shooting popcorn (which it is). So for the BR overall make the hit-boxes better as well so if you hit them in the head they will actually die.

For new maps the usual like midship, warlock and sanctuary would work well. But seeing that you made these great maps, why don't you make even better ones? I think a lot of people feel really insecure about ruining a good map (e.g. guardian), hopefully you'll make them a lot more balanced with a touch of simplicity they lack, instead of shoving loads of lame shield doors and man cannons everywhere.

The melee system needs fixing, so that if you hit someone first just like in real life (duh?) they will get hit first. This will make the better player with greater reactions win rather than someone who randomly has more shield. I don't like the hard to distinguish lunge range you have set either it is just not consistent (like a lot of things) sometimes I will lunge relatively far and then at the same distance I won't lunge at all, in fact why don't you take away lunge all together( Apart from melee weapons)to eliminate this problem and just put a greater stretch of the melee like you did in halo 1, so melee's actually take skill instead of the lunge doing all the work for you.
On that note why do we have to be bored to death of going through the same old routine of pressing B a million times close range? Why can't we add more depth and excitement to the game by using button combos, the best thing you did to halo 2/1 you did by accident, why can't you make the game more fast paced/ fluid and like it used to be instead of putting delay on everything. I mean how stupid is that, your at a disadvantage close range when you a sword/hammer because of delay times when you switch weapons. This game is that slow it's like playing chess, you kill someone they kill you, it would be good if you could do more things in a situation when your on no shield, like buttom combos all you would have to do was put a feature in game setting which would disable using equipment and have the X button as cancel instead to cancel out melee delays for the more hardcore gamers.
And if you going to make the BR better you'll have to make the sniper better as well to balance it out.

A few things..
Midship must be brought back and it should have vast similarities to H2 midship..
Forge is ok right now but colors and stuff..? Lol.
BR shots need to be fixed and the hitboxes should be tweaked.. I've gotten some sniper shots where I've sniped someone in the head and I see blood coming out... but the shot doesn't even affect the person.. :(
Player movement is fine since we can change it ourselves.
BXR would be sweet in H3.. Beat downs are very aggravating in H3..

Lockout should be remade again... (Hey, it was perfect on H2 in my opinion) Beaver creek sanctuary and warlock are nice, but Pit can cover those maps since its perfect for flag

MLG is also what keeps me going on H3.
H3 is a good game but with a few tweaks I'm sure it can be a lot better. It will only be a matter of time :)

yes very nice update. I cant wait to get my FOURTH xbox back from microsoft and start playing agin. maybe this one will keep working. lol but even though i am missing out right now on these new maps there is still more fun yet to come. My personal favorite CE map is Chill Out. that one would be absolutly spectacular.

Just came here to suggest my opinions about the update....

1.) FIX THE BEATDOWN SYSTEM!!! The beatdown system in Halo:CE and Halo 2 worked ALOT better.
2.) Of course Midship... I'd also like to see Sanctuary.
3.) I honestly thought the br is fine the way it is. People if you want things like Halo 2 then go play Halo 2. This is Halo 3, not the same thing.
4.) THIS IS MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT, Plz, Bungie, fix the hit boxes!!! They are, without a doubt, BROKEN.
