Subject: Why I Don't Enjoy Halo 2

"I agree OP. I, too, love feeling superior to others and enjoy the sensation of belonging to an imaginary elitist group on the internet."

It was a great game. The campaign was enjoyable, with diverse levels and a great story. I can even stand the cliffhanger now that Halo 3 is out. But when I got to online, it's like all these features disapeared.

I can't stand it. You are paired up with derankers, cheaters, and newbs all the time. It's not fun. Button combos grow tiresome, and those super bounces become cheap and unfair.

There is a fine line between cheating and strategy:

Strategy: Hiding in an obscure place easily accesable to all
Cheating: Using a super bounce to get to an unknow area.

This just ruins online. Why would anyone cheat in a video game? Do these people really need to feel important in their meager hopes of gaining a high rank? It's unbelievable. It waters down the experience for people who just want to sit back and enjoy a game.

That's why I like Halo 3 better. There are less of these idiots online. It's great. However, give it a few more months, and the game will be ruined as well.

Hump the bump. 3 days and no response? Weak.

That's not true at all. Super bouncing to get to an unknown area is hardly cheating; it's just the evolution of strategy. People use whatever they can to win--this happens in Halo 2 as well as Halo 3. You're probably just mad because someone beat you down one too many times playing Halo 2, and you're better at Halo 3 because you get to use all the old weapons again. Don't flame a great game just because you had a bad experience--it's people like you that ruins the game for the rest of us.

How exactly do people that voice their opinions ruin the game for you? I thought they were called cheaters.

lol By this logic modding is simply an evolution of strategy and is justified because people do whatever they can to win.

I agree, the combos/glitching in Halo 2 are annoying. I prefer Halo 3 where they are nonexistant/useless.

Haha.... no.

Superbouncing is cheating. It's a fact. End of discussion.

It's a glitch, the abuse of which is expressly forbidden by Microsoft's Terms of Use for xbox live, AND expressly forbidden by bungie in their matchmaking system.

On top of that, it was a glitch that doesn't even happen in the first place on some video standards (PAL-50). So it's not even available to everyone.

People who get too used to a method of cheating often do convince themselves that it's not really cheating. I forgive you for that. :-) But now you know better.

I didn't know that. I thought that super bouncing was nothing more than hitting the crouch button at the top of the jump--I was wrong. Thanks for letting me know.

Actually bungies stance on superbouncing is that it is poor sportsmanship but it is not cheating. Pal 50 issue only affects regular xboxs as i would know since my xbox and 360 are french, superbounces work fine on the 360. I use superbouncing in snipers all the time as it is the best strategy for beating team standbyers.

Superbouncing is cheating. Period. Nothing will change that. Also, why should we have to cheat to beat cheaters?
