already here goes. I've played other pc games no problems (even demanding ones like-
morrowind) my specs are AMD 2000xp/PNY ti4600/512mb ram/80gb HD
whenever i've tried to increase my resolution past the basic 800x600 it crashes even though
i play every other game at 1200x1040 with everything on max. I just reformatted my computer about two months ago and reinstalled everything (bad virus) also when i play
i can't get the zoom to work the scope area is just gray (pistol & sniper) So it's great
game but it's pissing me off. any help would be great thanks

Heyyo,

Hmm, I know HaloPC doesn't like older systems, but this sounds more like a bug within the game... you can try reporting it to either nvidia or M$... you're better off telling nvidia...

Nvidia cards seem to not like HaloPC, especially the newer forceware drivers. If you have old detonator drivers, upgraing is a good idea, I say around the Forceware 52.xx drivers. Newer ones seem to suck pretty bad at HaloPC....

Hey, i have to agree with mard, although i do have a similar problem and have discovered that it is most likely due to a glitch with the game when dealing with... NEW...nvidia cards and drivers.

From personal experiance with this problem i would say that the halo ( code, programing, whateva ) is just not compatible with the newer nvidia cards that are on the market. I also agree with mard in that, if it really is a problem for you, you should just contact nvidia and see what they say.

CYA

The zoom problem is something i can fix. You don't have to click down the scroller on the mouse you can instead just press Z to zoom, k? Good Luck with the resolution problem tho. L8tr.

Heyyo,

He's gotta GF4 TI4600. That's a pretty good card. It's a DirectX v8.1 card, and runs games REALLY well, even newer titles. He should be able to do specular lighting, BUT, only on models. I believe since it's DX8.1 it can't handle full scene specular lighting... I think it supports Pixel Shader 1.1....so yeah, no full scene specular lighting. So he's not running it in Forced Function, but in Pixel Shader v1.1, which's still a pretty nice look. ;)
