This site is taking forever to load lately and to upload threads. I'd say this is a problem on my end, but no other website is unresponsive as this one. What's up?

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

You could always try clearing your browser's cache. That can have a tremendous impact on page loading speed.

Indeed, but there is more to that. It depends on the browser that you're using of course. In IE, right click the IE icon on your desktop, and go to Properties>delete cookies. For Firefox, open a page and go to tools>clear browser history, and be sure to click the "cache" option.

For all other browsers, I've never used them, but I'm sure its a similar process.

Supposedly Safari doesn't run well on Bungie.net

It's actually, the other way around (I don't think Bungie's a browser, but I may be wrong), but unfortunately there are some issues with Safari. It makes me sad sometimes.

For Safari on a Mac, go to the top left of the screen and click on "Safari", then preferences, then security, then "Show Cookies" and remove all.

Safari is fine for me on Bnet. The first load takes about 10-15 seconds, but once everything is cached to disc it loads Bnet just as fast as Opera or Firefox, maybe even a little faster...

Anyway...

Firefox - Ctrl + Shift + Delete > Select Cache > Click "Clear Private Data now".

Safari - Ctrl + Alt + E > Click "Empty".

Opera - Tools menu > Click "Delete Private Data" > Click "Details" > Select "Delete entire Cache" > Click "Delete".

Internet Explorer (6) - Tools menu > Click "Internet Options" > General tab > Click "Delete Files" > Click "Ok".

Deleting the Cookies, Sessions etc. won't really have much of an impact on loading times. It's the Cache that, when too big, is responsible for slowing down loading.

EDIT: I'm on Windows here, so that's Safari for Windows, Firefox for Windows... etc.

Well, the main issue with Safari is that I can't use special characters in posts or messages. Whenever I want to quote someone who used one use one myself, I have to copy my whole post and switch over to Firefox which sucks in my opinion.

Sounds like some kind of Character Encoding problem. Go to View > Text encoding > Select Unicode (UTF-8). You could also try ISO-8859-1.

No, it's an issue with the site. When I try to use one, it says that I've reached the 10,000 character limit. I've PMed Achronos about it and he's acknowledged the issue and said that it's not a number one priority.

Well the problem isn't apparent on the Windows version of Safari, which is strange to say the browser is basically the same on both Operating Systems.

By special characters you mean things like "™" and "©", right? Just wondering.

Yeah. I had to delete those symbols since I couldn't quote it and I really don't feel like powering up Firefox.
