Maybe strange question, but I just like to know how you put an image/picture in the news in my group..

Help lease anyone ? :)

I find it easier to merely post a link to the picture you plan on putting up. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Twitter | Nothing

I'm afraid you cannot put images directly into news articles or announcements in the groups. In the previous version of Bungie.net you could do this due to a bug in the system, but they fixed that with the update. Although you might be able to pull it off, I'm not sure.

Yes you can I do it all the time, create a news article and for the first part of it, have [img]blablabla [ /img] but removing that space. Write your news and check the little box to make a thread about it. The pic will appear in the thread but if you edit the thread, it dissapears.

I just gave it a shot using the [img] tag, but no luck. There isn't any other way of doing it -- for Frankie, Luke and the other guys who have looser restrictions on their accounts, I believe that there's extra buttons on that RAD bar, one of which can embed images. We didn't (and still don't) get those, though, so the old solution was to resort to the IMG tag.

When it worked, that is. Also, we were restricted to only embedding images that were on bungie.net -- which was just as well, because some hooligan would undoubtedly have embedded something inappropriate.

Anywho, I just tried to embed my avatar onto a news article in a chapter where I have full permissions by using the IMG tag, and it didn't work.

No, ID Phoenix's method is the proper method to embed an image in a group thread, and about as accurate as possible. His instructions are exactly how you do it. It's a BNet glitch that very few people know about. Here it is in a little more detail.

Start a news story. In the summary of the news story, put an embedded image using the img tag like so:

[img]http://www.bungie.net/hello.jpg[/img]

Check the box marked "create a thread in the forum about this story." Publish the news story. The image will appear embedded in the first post of the thread in the forum, but will not appear in the news story itself or the summary. Only admins can embed an image in a news story, such as Achronos, Frankie, Lukems, and Sketch.

Right, it's an old glitch that I was surprised still existed while I was away for over a year. It was discovered back when you could still do colored text... I miss those days.
