Alright. I've just returned from a nine hour drive from St. George Utah. Highlights:

1) Great hiking.
2) Plenty of polygamists.
3) My Oma gave me a pre-WWII unread original German version of Nietzsche's Also Sprach Zarathustra. It doesn't even have a print date. The binding and all the pages are in perfect condition.

Polygamists? Sounds like a rootin' tootin' good time!

I'll never say that again. Ever. Savor the moment.

Hmm, I live in northern Utah. I find Saint George pretty boring. And that is the first report I have heard of polygamists in southern Utah. I only know of one place that has them.

By the way, did you enjoy the splendours (sp?) of Utah?

They're in Colorado City, Arizona, but we also saw a lot of them in resturants. I snuck out to some place three or four times by myself and just watched people. As identified by my resident grandparents, Polygamist women can be identified by long braids and a particular blue dress design.

Typically around five PM I saw Polygamist "families" come in - basically five young girls in their blue dresses, a similarily-dressed "head wife", and a man usually ranging from 40 to 60.

I don't speak German. Yet.

Assuming that's what you were asking.

I can speak Spanish. What a royal waste of time that was.

I had spent a while talking with my Oma asking her how to say some things in English. She was terribly critical of my pronunciation - an irony because her English is far from perfect.

hey hey knowing both laguages i take offence to that last sentence.

Sorry buddy, but I doubt you're going to make a difference.

Besides, why would you take offence? Say... that Obbi thought it was a waste of time because he would never go to Spain or Mexico. Why would that be offensive? He never specified, so don't act offended.

I've always wanted to speak German, or Italian. But everyone is trying to force me to learn Spanish on the assumption that every other person I meet will speak it also.

And yet, we'll probably never use any of them...Ah the ironies of life...

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

I took german for a two years due to the fact that all my relatives in manitoba speak it, and I didnt learn a thing. Sorry, learning foreign grammar doesnt appeal to me. Spanish is alot easier, and more useful, as Mexico, Spain, half of South America, Central America, and some Carribean countries use it as there first language. Vacationing in those places would be sooo much easier if you knew a bit of Espanol.

And I do understand espanol. Rarely do I get lost when I'm hearing it spoken, even very quickly. Speaking I'm slow and choppy, but it's passable and communicatable.

In my opinion, that's all I'll need. I do not like Mexico, and I'm annoyed by the Mexican culture.
