I still find the way "Halo 2" feels a lot more appealing than Halo 3's. And it just keeps me coming back. I finally decided to get on Halo 3 today (first time I got on my 360 in 12 days), because my brother dragged me on. We played (on each of our 360 consoles) double-team Matchmaking, and then I realized why I don't get on anymore.. Sure, it can be fun sometimes with good buddies, or in custom games (which I play a lot of), but usually that isn't the case, and you go in to matchmaking with random people or whatever.
I'm rambling, but basically it went down like this: All my brother (or my teammates) did was utterly b!tch about every single kill. They just complain, scream, curse, and become cocky bastards. When I played with my brother, he was just like that. He complained to no ends, and got uber-stressed out and got extremely angry through-out the match. And when he gets angry, he loses his -blam!-, stops communicating, stops using tactics, and gets mad when he gets "double-teamed" (in a double-team game), when he keeps on running along all by himself while the other team communicates effectively, and sticks together.
Needless to say, after the match, I left. He continued matchmaking, and everyone in the house heard him scream and hit things when he got mad. That's why I don't play. Though, if I do find a really good person I can get along with, I can pretty much win 20 matches in a row. And even against them "MLG pr0z" people that have the same names/icons and such, who we'd normally lose against, I can actually win against those people, and have a good time in the end if I find the right teammates.
But that isn't usually the case in Halo 3, and neither is it in Halo 2. But, Halo 2 Vista, that's another case =D It's like one big, fat custom game where you can freely join/leave whenever you want, and go find another game with ease if you don't like it or feel like doing something else. When you do matchmaking, you feel "stuck" with -blam!-s, people give you a hard time because of that, and you get punished if you leave. In H2V, all of that is eliminated, 'cause when I game finishes, you can keep on playing with the same people.. over and over again, and just have a blast.
I probably went around in circles there, but that's how I feel. Matchmaking is just generally too stressing because of the people I play with in matchmaking, or even some of my buddies take it too seriously or whatever. But =D
