Would you like trust systme implemented in groups?

  • 12.17.2007 11:51 PM PDT

Yes because there have been a few people that I know that don't really behave the same way in groups as they do in the public forums. It would be nice to see if someone that just joined the group is going to be trouble or not (This is meant twards those in the group that can see the group history viewer or have admin powers). That way their bad behavior in the groups would haunt them from group to group. The only drawback to that is if a group mod or admin likes to ban or blacklist people for no real reason, their rating would suffer. It would be hard to come up with a system that couldn't be exploited, but if they did I would be all for it. One possible idea for that would be something like a rap sheet, so you could see the reason(s) why someone was banned or kicked from a group, if that is even possible.

No, I think groups are small enough that the admin can make those decisions himself. He sees people being helpful and staying out of trouble, he can reward them accordingly. And having all the groups fall under the same global system wouldn't work because different groups have different rules, so mods of the group can enforce accordingly. And having a separate system for every group... It might be feasible. But like a said, nothing an admin wouldn't be able to do on his own or with the help of one other person.

But at the very least wouldn't it be nice to know if the person that just joined your group was blacklisted from four other groups? Even if there was a way for people to see just how many groups a person has been kicked out of, that would be enough for me. Something like a rap sheet that shows why a person was banned or blacklisted from a group or groups could also work, if thats even possible.

So I think Jun's a master chef, because he takes off his helmet and your like whoa, I think he's a chef.

So to shorten this up, Jun is master chef.

No, I just want a member search feature. It takes extremely long for groups like CompoundIntelligence, Imperial Center, or Mjolnir Battle Tactics to promote members.

It IS as bad as you think and they ARE out to get you.

Nah, the admins can already create their own ranks for their members and promote at will.

No. Achronos hasn't, and will not say how the system works (even the mods can't see it). If it were implemented into groups, we would all find out how it works and some will probably take advantage of it.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

What? You can promote a member with a click of a button.

No. The reason being, having the trust system implemented into the groups would probably let the Admins of that group see how the trust system works. One of the reasons the trust system will be successful, no one exactly knows how it works. What is considered good and what is considered bad would be clearly defined and thus, pretty much void the process.

Plus, there is really no need. If a member is causing problems, boot him from the group. If a member is role model in the group, promote him or give recognition.

Several clicks of a button, actually. With 2000 members, it takes a while to wade through the sea of names.

Groups have the ability to do something that the main site isn't willing to do. Have a probationary membership status for new members with tightly restricted privs. The closest the main site comes to that is the 24 waiting period before a member can create threads of their own on the forums.

.

thats weird, a few years ago I made a Bnet acct and made a thread 30 minutes later...guess that slipped through lol.

don't remember the name though lol

I guess if I want to check up on someone all I really need to do is just look at their profile, or some of the posts they have made.

That system didn't exist a few years ago. It was only implemented last year or so as a deterrent for spammers.

I guess we could have a "user rating" much like in the File forums. a little 5 star bar below your avatar, and if people think your post is well written out, you can get rated well.

ifz yrtou speelz likez dis, one star. (abusible, yes, but what isn't?)

Yeah, but when there are 75+ pages to search, it's hard to find your members.
