I actually wrote already conserning the Assault Rifle, but decided it should be a topic, so I am re-posting my thoughts on it and I want to know what everyone thinks about it after reading it. Thanks guys.
Assault Rifle:
I have only ever written into a forum twice, but I read them all the time on this greatest game being developed. I will from now on only write when I have to express something I think is important. I know alot of people are complaining about the AR not being in the sequel and people are getting sick of it. But I think it should really be considered by bungie. After looking at the SMG, it seems so small for a machine gun u just want to come in and absolutely pulverise 4 or 5 convenent m.f.'s at once with. Quote that, for real. If u look at any of the screenshots with masterchief holding and aiming the SMG, it looks so small and weak compared to him. I think alot of people will agree. The BR on the other hand looks good but could look better. Plus, its such a single shot rifle type of weapon (even though it has a 3 shot refire rate). It just doesnt have that "rat-tat-tat-tat" kind of effect. It is more a Rainbow Six 3 kind of weapon, a SWAT weapon. I used the AR alot in Halo and sometimes did get sick of it, actually, I got sick of it alot! I wished there was another bad ass marine submachine gun in the game, because I wasnt a huge fan of using plasma "science fiction, lazer guns". I love the "real military, bullet blazing weapons". It gives u a sense of realness and makes u feel like a Rambo type of soldier (Even though the Master Chief is our man, not Sylvester Stallone). Also, using the AR in Halo 2 would be like reuniteng with an old friend or comrade so to speak. Because many of us did become very Attached to it. Shoot, we had to, our lives depended on it. With this AR, we honed our skills over and over and over again for 2 years playing our favourite game, which isnt a game, its an escape from the real world. I wish someone from bungie read my post, because I would hate to get sick of using only one badass machine gun for a huge game like Halo 2 for years to come. Because we all know that this game will be even 10 times more replayable than Halo 1 and I have beaten it 6 times start to finish and I always go back to play selected levels for quick games. Tell me what you think? Also, bots need to be in the game, no question.
Bots:
I love Halo and I am addicted crazily. But the only thing that bothers me is I have only played Multiplayer about 10 times!! I have only played like 4 of the maps!! Not to mention when I have played, its was only with 2 other people on a small-ass screen, not much excitement with only 3 people on a map. Imagin playing on a big screen with up to 10 or 12 elites and MC's! I work full time, have a full time girlfriend, so I dont have much time for friends. And I only have 2 friends with xboxes. Theres's not much time for get together's for a Halo battle because everyone's so busy. Not every Halo lover is 14, at school, no responsibilities and gets the summer holidays to do nothing but hang out with all they friends playing video games all day. So many times I come home at 7pm after a hard days work and just want to play multiplayer. But no one to play with. My other two friends have jobs and responsibilities of they're own, live like an hour away and have families of they're own. I'm a popular guy, always have been. But, when I work 45 hours a week, there's not much time for buming around with friends, I really value my time. Broadband is so expensive for Live (I mite still consider getting it though, eventually) but not everyone has the money, I'm struggling to keeps up with my finances as it is. With bots in multiplayer, it would solve all my problems. A guy from EB games said "they dont even have to be that good, they just have to be THERE!" The xbox live fans dont need to bag the "bots" issue like they have been, they dont have to worry about it! 'Cause they never have to play with bots, it should'nt bother them one bit. They should be on our side cause they know how much we love Halo 2 also. They mite like it in the end anyway and be glad they're there. I love playing Unreal Tournament 2003 with all the bots. Its good for a 20 minute frag fest before I go to bed at nite when my woman's fast asleep. But you know what? Bungie is already considering a way to make multiplayer enjoyable for those without "live" so I'm confident they will tend to our needs. Tell me your thoughts.
