I'm going to complain...
Oh, maulers are too strong....then why don't we take out the rocket launchers, sniper rifles, shotguns, and lazers? Mauler was a good hope against the shotgun and hammer people on Guardian, especially when they wouldn't go out into the open. Now it just makes controlling those weapons even more crucial. Meaning, if you get a bad spawn and can't get to the shotgun/hammer, or if they keep getting better respawns than you to have access to those weapons, well, the mauler helped that issue a little.
Taking the shotgun out Snowbound is also a bad move. Ok, so you promote people not to camp in the bottom...then take out the sniper rifle so people can't camp on the edge of the map with it. It's easy enough to take out a guy with a shotgun down in the bottom "bunkers," but almost impossible to get a jump on a sniper that has a good position out in the open. Down in the bottom, you can chuck nades and flank...a sniper, good luck with that.
A good point already brought up with the lazer bein taken out...the ghost is already rediculous to take out as it is.
While the maps, when they came out, might not have been perfectly balanced, people got used to them and learned how to play with them and counter other people's camping attempts. By stripping other items, more power is given to the already powerful power weapons. Meaning, your attempts to balance the game is making it more unbalanced.
I think time needs to be taken to fix the problems with the game that apparently didn't get past beta testing instead of focusing on DLC ($$) and screwing with items.
