What is your impression of the map. From what you've read do you think that its going to be a rival for Blood Gulch.

Twelve Large ²

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

Maps are maps.. Meh.. How the gametypes play out in those maps is what matters. I, for one, like Zanzibar.. And the roles each team takes every time they switch off.

To be honest, I think just about every Halo 2 map will be competition for Blood Gulch. As I mentioned before, the map designers have something prove this time around (Map design was the only critically scrutinized aspect of Halo: CE).

As far as Zanzibar is concerned, most definitely. The rural, tropical setting is a giant leap from the rather dull and drab Wizard (I have nothing against Wizard, it’s just quite simple – which in and of itself is not a bad thing…), in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love Halo, including the maps - I just think Halo 2's will blow the originals out of the water.

Yeah. The MP maps in the first game were like after thought for Bungie. This time around they know how big the MP aspect of the game is, and so theyll focus more time on the design and layout of MP maps. BG was good because it was outdoors and there were vehicles available. But BG sucked because the design and layout were extremely simplistic.

BTW, Ive heard of Water Works, but I havent seen it. Did I miss a update? Could someone post a link for info on WW.

I think you may need to elaborate on, "much better."

Graphically, technically, and quite likely, game play-wise Halo 2's maps will be better which only agrees with what I said.

However, Blood Gulch has (obviously) become a fan favorite. I think the question is more appropriately phrased "Will Halo 2's maps have the same feel, and excitement found in Halo: CE's?" And Blood Gulch, often considered the best, represents Halo: CE's maps; think less in terms of technical achievement and more in nostalgia.

I'm not sure about a link, but I do know that there were several shots of Waterworks in the May (if I'm not mistaken) issue of Game Informer. I assume HBO would have the scans by now.

All the Halo 2 maps are gonna be well thought out,so blood gulch is really not going to be a rival.
But blood gulch will always be a awesome map.I loved all the Halo maps. No,other game had a great feel with MP,and SP then what halo had.(Halo felt awesome, thats way it was a great game)

I think Lockout, an indoor compact enviroment level, looks like it could beat longest or damnation easily.

Why would you guys want Blood Gulch. Think about it when Halo 2 comes out what would you play first (assume they have Blood Gulch) Blood Gulch or the other new Halo 2 maps? Wouldnt you rather try out the NEW Halo 2 maps.
