No, i think its more like a ritual. Maybe some "help me god" or "i'm going to kill you" or "surender now, bastard"... Or just maybe "Aaaaahhhhh!"

No, its "Go go go". Why? Because if you were to take a clip of an elite yelling "Wort wort wort", and play it backwards it would soung like "Go go go". If you were to record yourself saying "Go go go", and play it backwards, it would sound like "Wort wort wort".

Also, in any language, what one word means 3 different things in a sentance containing only that word?

Wort is just Trow spelled backwards. The Trow was a mighty race of giant's in the game Myth. The Elites say it to the Master Chief to remind him that although he may kick their asses in real life, they would own him if they played him in Myth.

lol, skraeling, I love how appropriate the avatar was for that funny remark.

all Elite dialog is simply sarge's dialog, pitched down, and then reversed. So yes, "Go, Go, Go" is what Sarge said, "Wort Wort Wort" is what comes out on the Elite's end. Granted, I think one can really only use context to figure out what the true meaning of Wort Wort Wort is. Considering how many different cases its been used against me (in sighting me, in killing me, in shooting at me), it could be some very generic phrase that only has meaning based on how its said. think "Ha Ha Ha." The meaning of that depends on context and how you voice it. Or "damn." The archers in Myth II had four or five different "Damn"s they said. Impressed, suprised, exhuasted, excited . . . .

"Trow, Trow, Trow!"

It means "Go go go."

He's right. Everything the elites say is just sarges comments played backward with th pitch lowered.

The Covanent basic is what grunts speak, and all races in the covanent know how to speak it, and it is used for all of their ship controls and labels 'n such, but only the grunts speak it, all of the other Covanent speak only their native tounge. Humans have only decoded Covanent basic because it is the only language written down for captured equipment. Thats why you can understand what grunts are saying.

Actually, "go" backwards should sound like "wog" or something similar. i'm going to assume the shortness of the G sound and the lowering of the pitch makes the G sound more like a 'rt.' If you listen *really* close it does sound like a g, but I much prefere to think that it is, truely, "Wort wort wort" and hoperfully, in halo it will be "Wort wort wort" and not jsut "Go go go" backwards and in lower pitch. I should hope that perhaps they worked out a 'true' alien language as was the plan in HALO one (they ran out of time...)
