Subject: Colored text for members (the old days)

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I think it is time to let the members flirt with colored text again. It has been so long since Hitokiri 1000, and Chemical Panther "overused" it.

Sorry to be so CYNICAL, but the forums would be filled with rainbow text.

EDIT: I found the word! CYNICAL!

Crimson Clover

I'll take the blame for some of that too. Although I can't help but mention that Crimson Clover started it.

Controlling fission events without incident since May, 2012.

Please look at test subjects A and B. Please note that these subjects have grown increasingly violent and rebellious in recent years.

If it only took two people to lose the privileges when the community was probably less then 500,000 members on this site, just imagine what the countless number of trolls and spammers would do. It's ideologically a good idea, but reality kicks its ass.

Until it allows them to bring attention to themselves.

"Oh, how did you make your text all purdy?"
"I just hit ........"
Cool! I should do this on all my threads.

maybe only colors that are hard to read/look like puke/give you headaches would be used then.

I think it would be okay, so long as it's not too annoying. Although it might make threads look bad visually.

...I bet someone is going to elitism...just watch...

Would have to be no acces to mod colors as well though.

  • 12.22.2007 9:45 PM PDT

don't take me too seriously..

<3

Nah, I would rather not have rainbow colored threads..

If the mods don't even have the privilage why would they even let other members have it?

I don't think we should have it. As big a jerk Chemical Panther was...we've got much bigger jerks now, and they're even more plentiful.

Chemical Panther's jerk-ness aside, I thought he was a pretty cool guy. :)

If it won't work now it never will.

Unless the ninjas go genocidal on the halo 3 / flood forum users. Actaully........ that might work.
I suggest a system that hands out permanent bans for all people who use the words noob, recon and any l337 speak.
Just imagine the consequences. The chaos will be glorious . mwa ha ha

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I'd say make it available for Heroic or Legendary Members, but that would be elitist. The forums are fine how they are now.

You know that's what exactly people said about user titles before they came out and did the elitist attitude arise. If it did I didn't see it happen. The point is user titles are based on trust. If you call someone trusted but then you can't trust them, then what was the point of affording them any level of trust, and something to be trusted with, to begin with?

Edit: But I'm against it except for Mythic members.

I guess colors could be added. I don't really see a use for them though.
