Sometimes I become afraid to push the "report as spam" button, because a lot of the time, I just don't know what to report.

Let's say I visit the Halo 3 forum. If I find a post that asks for a set recon armor, can I report it? Can I report a post that contains a link to one's file share? How about a completely random and off topic post?

I know that there are a variety of posts that break the rules, but I feel that I can only report absolute spam, and nothing else.

I could really use some assistance here- I really want to know which posts I can report as "spam".

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

As long as you don't use it often you're fine.

Anything spam, like off topic, excessive bumping, insults, or inappropriate.

edit: Only use it in extreme circumstances. Like, if someone bumps, don't do it unless they bumped like 4 or 5 times...

edit 2: You're name is Spammer...Hmm...Interesting...

I use it very often and am mainly right when doing it.

Report anything that is in the wrong forum, off topic, ALL BUMPING, especially in files forums. and anything irrelevent - which there is plenty of.

If it's apparent someone bumped even once, it's no better than multiple bumps. It only takes one.

PS I know I said 4 or 5, but...

I report after 1 bump and will continue until I'm told not to.

The system becomes aware of you abusing it if you report a post as spam multiple times or after it has been locked, as well as numerous unknown ways. If you're simply reporting every bump you see as spam, you're not cutting bumpers slack. That's what they get for being so self centered to think their thread deserves to kick everyone else down the stairs.

I reported 20 ppl in a single thread = over 50 ppl banned - they all deserved it.

Do you report each bump or do you report just one?

Cogito Ergo Sum

Caveat Emptor: Make sure you look at the time stamps before you report a bump as spam. I saw a post in the H3 forums that had been created over a week ago and the kid bumped it just the other day and a few kids flipped at him for it.

I would assume that it follows similar guidelines as the 360 feedback system: Report the person in the appropriate field as you see fit. Of course there are certain things that you should take extra consideration into before reporting it.

As for me I report quite a few things when I see them. Some of them being post that contain posts with the word old, posts that are insulting a spammer, a thread of spam, and most totally useless posts that don't contribute to the thread in a positive way what-so-ever.
