I'm not that active, but never dead.

I was over at Yayap.com and decided to link to my Halo 2 emblem which is displayed in my Gamertag Profile.

Anyways, I just thought that it would be a excellant idea to give your Halo 2 emblem as an Avatar choice for Bungie.net. That way you could have an Universal Avatar no matter where you go: Bungie.net. Halo 2, and link to it else where.

(Spelling note: Is else where one word or two? Elsewhere, Else where....)

Since apparently the avatars are coded into the site in some way (I honestly don't know anything about it), I would think it would be too hard for the site to have to constantly keep updating everyones avatar to match their Player Emblem (Since it changes to the last one used in our account). It would just add another element of the Bungie.net servers synchronizing with the Live service when it's hard enough with just the stats.

Man, I really wish you could just make a penament Emblem for you Gamertag. Besides, I'm not asking for it right now with all the bug fixs and chapter/group reprograming. I'm just suggesting something that I'd like the Bungie.net team to consider in the future. It also would not that much of a problem, I'm sure that people don't change profiles that much.

Bungie said they were looking into this. They told me probably in a future update.

i don't know if bungie will let you use an outside avatar anytime soon, but it is possible to use your bungie avatar on other forums.

Bungie aren't going to allow custom avatars - ever. Too many idiots, and too many submissions to control.

I don't think it would be that hard at all. From what I understand, there is a local copy of all the emblems, and their options, are right on the disc, they are not actually transmitted over the XBL servers. That means that linking them to bungie.net would require an incredibly miniscule amount of data to be transferred.

Or of course, they could just create a smalll program to allow you to design an avatar, similar, or completely the same as the custom emblem system.

were not talking about emblem avatars. we want to be able to use our avatars from other forums. (I don't think it's going to happen)

Who is "we"? Because I thought that I read the thread creator's post carefully, and they seemed to be referring to the Halo 2 "badges".

Unless "you" = "we"?

Did someone leave the door open and royalty snuck in, again?

One is not amused.
