ATi:
Radeon series, 9600 series and above, 128MB or above

nVidia:
FX series, 5600 series or above, 128MB or above

Expect to pay about £100 / $150 / CA$ 200 or thereabouts, that's a very rough price guide though.

Recommended:
ATi 9600XT with 128 or 256MB
nVidia 5600 with 128 or 256MB

DO NOT buy: ATi 9200, nVidia 5200, any card below 128MB of RAM, any card not made using ATi or nVidia chipsets, any of ATi's 'SE' or 'pro' range (with the exception of the 9800pro), any of nVidia's XT range.

Is a ATI Radeon 9550 256 MB DDrR AGP good enough?

Nope. I said 9600 series or above, not below. It was only this week that someone on this forum complained that their new 9550 gave them poor performance and appearance.

Heyyo,

Well, the FX5600? I say no, the FX5700, don't go lower than that card. I had a FX5600, it sucked at halo, got rid of it, bought a ATI Radeon 9600 PRO and now am satisfied. ;)

Videocards is the most important part of a gamer's computer. DON'T go too cheap on this part, cause it'll affect your preformance the most.

Any card from the past couple of years will be sufficient. It really depends on how you want the game to look.
