I've heard that even if a ban is modified, you retain the resulting penalty from it, is this true?
From my understanding, unfortunately, yes. That perma is going to way on your title big time. It could take a long time for you to see any change with your title.

Ouch. I don't know whether its true or not but either way it'll be a long time.

It was originally a permanent ban?
Yes.

That's what I was afraid of. It's the price I pay for breaking the rules.

What may seem like sharing an interest to you, can be seen as advertising to someone else. It's important to make that distinction, otherwise you keep the permanent ban.

Maybe I'll have Mythic by the time I get my degree, providing account age factors heavily =P

I wouldn't mind finally having a title on this account. Doubt it'll be anytime soon though.

Why is Heroic such a large gap? "1-12 months".

Also, does never signing out count as not being active? I know signing in everyday etc helps but what if you never sign out? o.O

I think that logging in might help, however I'm pretty sure it ends your session anyway if you just leave your account on all night. It probably counts you as logging in when you refresh the page later.

Also, I'm sure Clone could give you lessons for 1600 on how to post it up on the mains, one month of Clone status would probably get you to Heroic if you haven't been banned before.

Were you sent all the way back to member? In that case, it may take awhile to earn legendary again for you.

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”

So, we understand that titles are based off of trust points, right? Now is there any way to guess how many trust points one has? I don't care too much about current points, but I am curious as to how much someone would loose or go negative upon being warned or banned.

I recall when I was warned I lost my base title (and prefix, but that was only because it was a ban/warning related prefix) and I was not expecting that from a simple warning.

Who the hell do you think I am?

You know, I actually have no clue how the trust points work.

I was indeed. I can wait, but now I hold a strong feeling of distaste toward him.

But glad to see you got Mythic.

If you check the first page of this post, all titles and prefixes are loosely explained. It's good to note that none of us really know how it works as the Web Team is highly secretive. The gist of it is this: be active and nice and you will be rewarded.

Be consistently active, make some threads, don't get banned, join some groups. That sort of stuff.

I was trying to help by summarizing a large portion of this thread and that was basically it.

You really haven't posted that much and your Halo rank doesn't matter.

You can't go into the negatives, everyone supposedly starts on zero and there's no official way to count your trust points, as we don't have any exact measurement of what a trust point is worth or how many of them it takes to get titles.

All we really know about trust points is that they're given based on some crazy equation that is supposed to calculate activity and that they're used to earn a higher base title.

I remember Achronos posted saying he had 9200 but people had more and the random member he responded to had 1500 or something.

I don't think we have anything to compare it with, though. We don't know if it's a fixed value when related to base titles or not (if it's value related to them changes in time).

Edit: Here's that post you were talking about.

I'd just like to add (from the same post):

If you have negative trust, you lose your prefix regardless. Take me for example: My account is 4 coming up on 5 years old. Before I was banned I had the Veteran (Noble upon ban) prefix. I lost enough points from my ban to put me in the negative, that's why I have no prefix.

I know no one really knows but does simply signing on the website count as being active or do I have to post for it to count activity?

If I am not posting, then I am reading what you might have posted.

I think that somewhere on the OP, it has a link to where achronos has said something like that. I would hope so because there are times where I sign in only and don't post...

Looking for link...

Signing in counts as not being inactive, but I don't know if it really counts as being active in regards to the trust system.
