Subject: FAQ on Bungie.net Member Titles / Prefixes / Bar Colors

How come I'm a Noble member, which requires you to be an "Active member of 2 years, with no bans for at least 1 year," and yet don't have any other title? I'm not complaining, just curious, because the requirements for other titles are "active for x years," and the requirement for this is "active for x years," so somehow I'm active enough for Noble but another one? Sorry if this has been asked before.

By looking at your post history, you aren't active in the forums enough to get a title. Become more active and with a little time you should receive a title.

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

As you waste your breath complaining about life, Someone out there is breathing their last. Appreciate what you have.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.

You don't need to be active to get Noble. I have alt account i never use that as soon as i log in to remove Absent, Noble or Honorable appear.

Heroic, Legendary and Mythic actually require you to post and whatnot.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

But it said "Active" was a requirement for noble. :S Ach well.

Active is vague. If your account isn't Absent then it is technically active. Active in terms of participating is a whole other kettle of fish.

Thinking about making a new account. Fresh ban history and a username that matches my GT... So maybe Legendary in 2014-15? Hah

I don't know how, but apparently, "active member of 2 years" means that you're active currently (have logged in at least once in the past two months), and have been a member for two years. And it seems that the only reason to include saying you have to be "active currently" is to reiterate that you'd have the "Absent" prefix otherwise.

"Activity", as described in the base titles section, is much more complex. The "activity" described there is more based on an equation that, after a certain amount of "activity"(including account age, how few bans you have, post quantity, post quality, &c) is given, you earn your title. The times written in the original post serve to estimate how much time it takes to earn the title, on average, if you've been a fairly "active" member.

You might be on to something...

Duardo, quickly edit the OP saying that you can't be offline for ages and expect a title!

You will earn any title quicker on your current account than a new one (unless you want to get a prefix with lower priority).

Don't care about title; was making a joke. Just want a new username, tbh.

I like your current username much better than the one you propose.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.
~M.D~

This whole "3 month ban wearoff" is going by sooo slow. It's been only 16 days since my last ban and it seems like a few years. I want a new title :( I know it's just for fun and means nothing blah blah blah but hell I love them.

It's something for you to think about before breaking the rules next time.

Who the hell do you think I am?

Duardo, if you're seeing this, I really think you should change the mythic title achievement time from 2-3 years to 3 and a half to 4 years.

At this point I'm convinced that it's impossible to get the mythic title with only 2-3 years of activity.

It is possible if you read what the reat said... you cant have bans

I know that. I still think it's impossible.

(Bans don't really effect your title permanently) I don't think a ban or two in your account's first two years would greatly effect your title by the third year, unless the forced "inactivity" is great enough (or it's an outstanding ban).

I think it's possible to get "Mythic" in three years or under, just takes a well regulated activity (but not exactly a lot of activity).

That goes back to my theory about everyone constantly earning trust (when not hindered by bans and warnings) at a constant rate (say, 100 pink-t-points a month) and when you get warned or banned, the warning would take away pink-t-points as well as hinder the rate at which you gain them for a certain amount of time, and a ban would do the same only maybe you wouldn't earn pink-t-points while you're banned or the severity and length of your pink-t-point-earning-deprivation would depend on the length of your ban.

Just a concept but you get it. It runs out.

Constant rate? If you mean at a fixed rate, people earn trust points at a variable rate depending on a bunch of "metrics", &c.

Achronos has already said "Each type of ban has a specific effect on your rating that lasts for a specific amount of time. The longer the ban, the more the negative effect is. And while you're banned, you get like a -1000000 trust, the negative influencer happens after you come off the ban. These negative influencers last a long time, especially for the longer bans" a while ago...

Yeah, I didn't factor in positive modifiers to the rate at which you earn trust.

I guess the hypothetical 100 (I know the scale is much larger than that) is more of an idea for a base rate, which can be affected by multiple things which can run out (both positive and negative). And while he did say something like it he didn't exactly confirm nor deny what I've said (now that I've included the part about increasing the rate).

Just sayin.
