Thank you. this was really helpful. . .I usually don't frequent fora, and I was wondering what made me so noble. . .

Right, I'm back to Intrepid Member, I'm going to just throw out a random prediction but I think that tomorrow I will be Intrepid Heroic Member if my insight into the title system is vaguely accurate. Then, I think I'll be Legendary on the 2nd of Jan and Mythic again on the third (provided I don't gather more bans).

Just some random guess work but from previous experience of the title system I think my guesswork may be accurate, I guess I'll have to wait and see tomorrow...

Did you get banned recently?

It seems you have been doing your research. What research that is, I have no idea.

Well this is my prediction or what will happen with my title (just for lulz). Next year in January I will become Mythix, and 2 years after that in 2012 still in January my prefix will change to Exalted.

I would applaud you if you're correct Tom.

I would be very surprised if that happens since it would go against my previous observations, but hey anything is possible.

More often than not, members regain a prefix back after a ban before the base title, it's almost always Intrepid since it is the easier of the two activity prefixes and the activity prefixes are comparatively easy to obtain, unless the member has been around for 4 or more years.

Re-obtaining the base title after a ban seems to be a bit more tricky however. From what I've observed, banned members will start to regain their "base trust" at the first day of each month "X" amount of months after their ban. Ever wonder why there is so much title activity on the first of each month? Perhaps it is because most of the title changes going on each first day of the month are from members who were previously banned and are just starting to regain their trust back.

Any way, ban severity seems to play the largest role in determining how long one will have to wait until they start to regain their trust back. So if you had a pretty hefty ban, it may take a while before you return to your previous base title.

OMG I'M A HEROIC MEMBER NOW. About 19 days till me first year is done.

2-3 2 week bans can eat their heart out.

Doesn't seem like I was right...

I was just going on the basis that on the 2nd of Jan I jumped from Member to Legendary Member and on the third of Jan jumped to Mythic. I thought there could be a chance that titles take 3 months to revive from ban history and move up within a certain period; as this is the middle of the year it might follow the same pattern as before being that the 2nd and 3rd are the days calculated from my join date when I reach the criteria for a title.

Terrible logic but I was just thinking out loud.

Oddly I think soul bans have some of greatest impact. A soul ban dropped my title from Intrepid Mythic Member to Intrepid Member, most bans that occur (namely 3 day and 7 day bans) the user often gets a title one or 2 below their title before banning, with that logic my title should have fallen to a Legendary or Heroic prefix as the soul ban was very short and removed by a moderator.

I then proceeded to lose the Intrepid prefix with a second 3 day ban from lukems which stripped the prefix taking me to member, it seems prefix are a lot easier to retain that trust bar colour titles although I have seen some users get banned only to lose their prefix and not their bar colour.

It seems like thare are lots more fluctuations. With the new game announcements, there is going to be a ton more forum activity. I wonder it things will be altered to settle the titles down. It's been done before.

Respect in this game has, unfortunately, been tea bagged after being no-scoped by an invisible guy from across the map - LittlePikle

activity, and inactivity all play a role. in order to maintain a rank, you have to post semi regularly. i went up, then back down, from not posting.

edit
or did i go up? i was noble something now i am exalted nothing, lol

He upgraded a few pages back, actually.

And speaking of 'upgrades', your prefix went up not too long ago, didn't it? If I remember correctly, you were at "Veteran" before, and now you've risen to Intrepid.

I still think Veteran/senior sounds better than intrepid.

Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?

The one question I want answered, that might have be answered in the previous 113 pages, is...

Does posting in groups count the same as posting in, say, the Halo 3 Forum?

Jesus christ what is up with the title system? At this point it feels like it would be better if the threw the system in the trash can because this inconsistency is only pissing people off despite how insignificant virtual titles may be, one can not just drop certain principles from real life just because it's online.

And I thought that Achronos said that a person's title is only depending on that person's individual actions nowdays. I've been more active than ever, I have joined more groups, my GT is still linked yet I am "de-titled". Where's the logic in that? Is it that my latest ban is delayed 3 months and hasnt kicked in until now? Naw I think there's been some secretly tweaking going on so that we're back where we started.

Also, Fabled is according to the prefix descriptions a reflection of activity. How is it then that I'm losing titles when I'm not posting for two weeks yet gets to keep an activity related prefix? One would think that the activity prefix, which is nothing but a prefix, was more affected by short term activity and not the title which has been changing back n forth 3 times/week lately.

From observation I'm going to say "No" but nobody is entirely certain except the webteam.
