Alright, I have a simple theory yet I found it a bit difficult to find the right words to say it so please bear with me. My theory is similar to a Karma System.

My reasoning came from reading ***Trust is calculated daily, which could be a reason as to why member's titles change.

When you join, you have 0/1000 "Trust Points" or TP(bear with me on this). As a new member, you must earn "trust points" in order to rank up. Say a month of good behavior (no bans or warnings) gives you 50-75 points. A year of perfect behavior alone gets you 600-875 "trust points". A month of report free posts/threads gives you10-25 points. A year of all legitimate posting will get you 100-250 points. Now, recognizing the fact that it takes about a year to a year and a half to become a Heroic members, a year of perfect behavior and legit posting gives you 700-1150 total trust points, just enough to become a Heroic member.

Now,once you reach 1000 "trust points", it increases to say...2250 "trust points" required to become a Legendary member and then 4000 "trust points" to become a Mythic Member.

For a thread being reported, you lose 50-100 points. For being warned, you lose 25-100 points. For being banned, 100-500 points depending on severity. Inactivity for a month will cause you to lose 25 points. Complaints will cause you to lose 25-100 points depending on severity.

Chart

Titles:
Member: 0-999 TP
Heroic Member: 1000-2249 TP
Legendary Member: 2250-3999 TP
Mythic Member: 4000-5000 TP (5000 is max)

Earning TP:
Good Behavior for a Month: +50-75 TP
Legitimate Posting for a Month: +10-25 TP

Losing TP:
*Reported Thread: -50-100 TP
*Received a Warning: -25-100 TP
*Banned: -100-500 TP
Inactivity for 1 Month: -25TP
*Moderators/Administrators Receiving Complaints About You: -25-100 TP

* Indicates a method depending on severity.
Okay, so I understand the trust system and the theories now, but I'm still not impressed.

Can anyone give me any types of advise or theories for ranks like Honorable[/b], or[i]Exalted? I know it has to do with bans, obviously, but I'm still a bit confused?

Someone should create a script to take and measure how many points away were are, from our next title up?
Except no one knows how many points they have, and they're not going to tell you. It isn't that simple.

From what i gather there are alot of variables, some we know of and some we don't. As papa stated it isn't that simple.

Oh the confusion... I'm just glad that these wonderful people cleared most of it up! Though now I'm paranoid about being blacklisted... <_< Eh, I'll just be as nice and helpful to others as possible.

5 years and counting on Bungie. I feel old and worthless.

How long would it take to become a Heroic Member? I've been here for two years.

We're all nerds, you can't deny it.

How many bans?

I've been three times, A Perma (Removed), A three month, a week and a day, and I've been here for just over a year and I'm heroic.

I am just waiting until the time is right. Then I will spead my wings.

You seem to me like you already are. You're active now, and I see your name in every thread.

I do believe I read somewhere reports don't affect your trust rating.

I seem to be in a state of fluctuation, one minute Im legendary, next i am the big M.

I must be teetering on the philosophical fence of trust :D

There is only 2 ways to go;

1 fall to the one side and become a member
2 fall to the other side and become a mod

both are quite horrific in their own ways.

Words of wisdom all around, but no one ever seems to listen. The words are all around but the words are only sound. But nobody seems to listen. Instead they'll say, "Well how could we of known?" I'll tell em, "It's really not so hard to tell. keep adding stones, and the water gets lost in the well."

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

I would hope not. The community as a whole should not be able to affect your trust rating. There's always some joker who cannot be trusted.

I think i might have an interesting theory. I could have sworn when comparing two heroic member to each other you can see a color difference. Could this possibly be a hint as to how close you are to "ranking" up ? Okay so maybe that wasn't a theory, but it is valid speculation.

Can you believe it?

Well, it says here that you only have 174 posts and 7 pages which isn't a lot for two years. That may have something to do with it. You need to be active to be heroic.

We've been discussing in the Mythic Members group who/whom would be most suitable to be the next set of mods/ninjas. When a new forum or game launches there are usually some additions to the moderating team. There are several notable members who deserve that responsibility/curse.

I think it's caused by the way you're looking at your monitor. All Heroic bars are #323A3D in hex.

Old School

For some reason i went back dwn to legendary, Wouldnt be surprised if it was because of an idiot using the report button , i dont really care though. I wish i could see how many posts ive done in total though.

I wonder if appealed bans reduce the time to recover your trust points. I hope it does. I miss Heroic.

When enlightenment is the question. The Answer is Pain.
When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.
When love is absent. Hatred fills the void.

I would probably imagine so, if that was the case.

They do actually.

I don't think they do, i remember reading somewhere that if your banned by accident then theres nothing that can be done about losing your trust points. :(
Think this was the thread
