Actually my observations show that 3 years of a clean ban history will earn you the Exalted status. Though actually I don't know whether this is 3 years without being banned a single time in your b.net life.

Yeah it would be good to hear from any 'Exalted' members if they have ever recieved warnings or bans.

I've been banned before if memory serves - by Shishka or Achronos I think back in the days of Zanzibar. I can't remember though, I've been around for a while. But that was the only time.

With regards to how the member title system works, it's a mystery pretty much. Only the webteam "get it" really.

Thanks Sik, wasn't too sure if 'Exalted' member mean't that you had a clean ban history for your entire bungie.net career or if its a certain peroid without getting banned! Cheers mate.

And I'm sure they will keep it that way.

Well, it seems that I have been promoted to Interpid Member. Relating to forum activity, I can see that happening...

So, I think we have concluded that the effects of a smaller ban seems to wear off quickly, and a longer ban will sink your Trust-Rating to almost nothing, and it will take you much longer to regain any other previous status. However, this is just speculation, but it seems that this theory would make most sense in this case.

Thanks guys

Life's a garden...DIG IT!!!

I don't recall ever being banned yet I have been a member for 4 1/2 years and my title doesn't reflect that. Is there somewhere you can see your history of any warnings or anything? Thanks in advance...

Nice join date, same one here. This is perfect actually because it gives us the foundation for a fair comparison.

I have on numerous occassions been a mythic member. Unfortunatly I'm also from time to time posting things I shouldnt post which has resulted in a few bans, my current title is a reflection of that. We both have GT's linked so what is the difference between us then? I would say activity. When i'm not on vacation I'm spending atleast 50 hours per week on this site (I'm killing hours at work). This results in a good deal of posts (posts that gets me banned and I wouldnt have posted under normal circumstances....but that's another story). You on the other hand are atleast on the main forums not as active, an assumption I make based on your "more posts by this user"-list. My conclusion is that you would probably get a "higher" title if you were more active. Now I'm not sure if that activity has to be spread out over lets say a year or if it's enough that you're really active during a two month period but your are certainly eligible for a mythic title "age and warning/ban record"-wise (exalted means that you have never been banned or atleast not for a couple of years)

That makes sense. I think my low title given my time (I'm about 2 months after you) results from simply posting in nothing but the private chapters of Bungie.net for about a year or more. Hopefully in a few weeks of activity (people have gotten a lot smarter since Halo 3 released, so now I have a reason for checking the forums) I'll at least be able to attain Senior. I was banned about 2 years ago so hopefully it won't affect my status too much!

Sure it does. That's the "Exalted" prefix. Your title of "Heroic" is really from lmited activity compared to others.

  • 08.01.2009 5:36 AM PDT

Awesome, I just became an Intrepid Member. Which is surprising, because I used to get banned fairly frequently.

  • 08.01.2009 5:41 AM PDT

Does anyone even read these?

I noticed that Tom and Batzer jumped to Mythic just now.. and just now is the 1st. Coincidence? I think not.

Me and my friend both jumped to Legendary member at the same time, and we both jumped to Herioc before at approx the same time. Definitely not by coincidence.

As a few others have said, the Exalted prefix to your title refers to your ban history, which consists of little to no bans. As of now, your rank is correct. If over a 4 year period you only have 160 some posts, then it explains why you are still at Heroic.

So, keep posting on the public forums, and you should be promoted in no time. Your join date definately shows that you are overdue to rank up.

Happy face :D

It seems to take about 5-6 months to recover a title bar colour and about a month or two to recover a prefix from short blacklists (from my observations).

Well, I am sure this is all relative to how long the ban actually was. For example, I got a 3-day a week or so ago (stupid me), and I was active on Sunday, and then left to go on a trip. I got back last night and I was already an Interpid Member.

So yes, I believe that is most definately true, and that you regain a prefix before a new title bar colour, but I think that the time it takes is effected by how long the ban was. I think that makes the most sense.

Good theory though.

WTF?! I had a Member bar color yesterday, and now I'm Mythic???

Strange system indeed...something's gotta be wrong

Also, if anybody has any solid proof about some criteria for prefixes or a title, create a post with said proof.

No, it makes perfect sense. Today is the first of the month, and you were banned during the April Fools thing, right? So your ban has "worn off", as it seems to do the first of every month, and you've regained your previous trust rating (perhaps minus a little bit) so it put you back up to Mythic.

Definitely. When someone like me gets Heroic, something must be up with the trust system.
It could have something to do with the fact that it's the first of the month. Maybe each member that behaves well for a month gets a 'boost' at the start of the next. I dunno.

This has been speculated upon many, many times before, and I believe it is right. At the start of every month, someone seems to get promoted if they were active, not banned, etc. in the past month.

Besides that, if the "Honorable" prefix theory is correct from the OP, I should be an "Honorable Heroic Member" on the fourth of this month.

  • 08.01.2009 9:22 AM PDT

Yep, seems like a good theory to me. Before today, I was but a lowly member. Now look at me!

Mwahahaha.

I kinda lost you there Duardo...lol

And I think this theory involving montly "boosts" is interesting. I've already seen a few people go up in a title bar, so your activity and other actions in a month may be reflected upon that. Very interesting...

Well according to mah script, I've been posting around 42.587 times a day this month on average, so I think it's possible.

I post 4.466 times on average per day.
I never post unless it's necessary :P

Why do we need prefixes etc. when we have Coup :P lol

We really don't need these ranks, and they really have no significance at all, but it is fun to watch yourself rank up and get new titles. Also, it is a treat for respected members to gain high member status such as Legendary and Mythic. Also, thre prefixes are just for recognizing certain aspects of a members trust and other such actions...
