What is this madness!? I lost my mythix!

It happens quite often if you are new Mythic. Mine fluctuates all the time, but then again my activity fluctuates a lot as well.

Seems like one post per day is not enough for heroic.

It seems like if I don't post during the weekends I'll lose my mythix.

It took a month for me to first loose mine, and somehow it has nearly been a year since I first got it o.O - the '09s are closing in!

But it's on an individual basis now, is it now? That's what I was told anyways.

I thought titles were not relative to other users anymore.

Neither did I, Achronos posted that somewhere.. but I didn't want to shoot Duardo down.. :P

So ranks is based on some complex bell curve that's always computing the activity of every user of B.net relative to others and proportionally ranks people up by the data collected- Duardo that doesn't make sense for anyone to do, especially for a redundant ranking system.

And yes I'm pretty sure Achronos stated somewhere that this doesn't happen.

Yes, that's what most people thought until Achronos shot down this theory. Some members still think it works that way though.

I think it is clear that it is not. If it was, the metrics in the OP for base titles that have seemed to match up pretty accurately, would be constantly changing based on member behavior.

Achronos said, 11.13.2008, that titles started to work on an individual basis:The only other thing that's changed with titles is that the math that selects the base title is significantly different, most notably in that it isn't based on a relative maximum anymore, but specific "tiers" (making things a bit less random). The rating isn't relative to every other user anymore, it is a fixed scale, i.e., get X trust, get A title, get Y trust, get B title, etc.
Before, they accounted for other users' ratings and titles:Ranks are assigned based on where your trust rating falls within the range of possible trust ratings for that day.The system bases your title on the maximum possible trust rating and your relative closeness to it.They are assigned based on the "tier" of trust your account is in relative to the highest possible trust value for that day (that amount is variable, as the system is not zero sum).Remember, trust is calculated daily, and the maximum value possible changes every day too. Since the titles are based on the percentage your trust value is compared to the maximum value, it can easily change if the max value goes up further than you go up in the intervening time, even if you haven't had any negative items against you.The number that underlies the title is relative to the rest of the userbase. As in, your title is determined by what your score is in relation to the person with the highest score for that day. So... if the maximum score goes up further than you go up in the same time period (even if you didn't do anything wrong like get a warning or ban), you can easily lose your title. The system is a relative ranking. That means your ranking changes based on the maximum possible score, as defined by the person with the highest rating that day. So, if the max value changes, your title can change, especially if you're on the borderline between one or more levels.
But, for all we know, titles don't function that way, anymore. Achronos, since 11.13.2008, has not said anything about if titles are or aren't relative to other users. And, as I've shown above, the last thing he said about them was that they're no longer relative to other users. So I think it's safe to presume things haven't changed since then.

Duardo just made a little mistake or perhaps found some evidence to prove otherwise (unlikely).

The tru7h of the title system is elusive. I don't think anyone quite knows it.

Probably not. It's been said on multiple occasions that only the Webteam knows the algorithm and how it works. And it's been specifically said that Forum Ninjas are just as in the dark about the title system as we are. The only exception would be for the short period of time when Achronos gave the Forum Ninjas a list of the Prefixes in order, but the list was also given with the order to share it.

True, but this is just my little conspiracy theory.

I just had a thought.

What if there are actually hundreds and hundreds of titles that Achronos hasn't told anyone about, but the criteria to get them is so ridiculous and convoluted no one has ever got them...
