Anyone else ever wonder what it's like for two elcor to do the nasty?

"Tentatively excited: Oh. Oh. Oh. Right there."

Yeah me neither.

Question. Is a "warning" informal? For example Mod: Don't do that again. With no affect to your member title, prefix, or trust rating.

I remember someone saying that after getting a warning, their title went down.
So it seems there is a formal, and informal warning.

A while a back it was informal, but I'm pretty sure they have an automated way to send them now.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

My warning came from the Soul, so it was "official." I think if your communication comes directly from the mod, it is probably a friendly warning and under the radar.

Exactly. I believe a got a warning directly from Foman once, and it didn't effect my member title whatsoever. But, about a week or so later, I got another warning from the Soul, that was originally from Foman, so it was official. That, did indeed affect my member title and trust rating.

(Priority comes into play only when a user qualifies for more than one member title)
Here is a question for everyone; would having the ability to choose which prefix a member wants be 'icing on the cake' so to speak?

Let's take for example that when a user is eligible for the Noble prefix but they have the option to choose the Honorable or Veteran prefixes instead be 'better'? For a practical use, I doubt their is one, this ability would really only have the merit of allowing users to choose a title for themselves should they be eligible for more than 1.

Would this be a nice addition to the prefix system? Or do members, as a whole, prefer the automatic system? For some reason I was having a hard time conveying this thought.

*Note* - This idea may have already been discussed.

The way I see it, the member titles here have essentially two purposes. Mainly, they are just for fun, but they are also somewhat of an incentive to play nice on the forums. If you allow members to choose what title they want, a part of that incentive disappears.

In my opinion, If members were allowed to choose their own prefix, then there would have to be a large incentive to keep it / not lose it, or else members might not care about playing nice as much.

Ok yeah thanks for that I guess there is no point worrying about having certain titles etc I will be promoted when the time is right.

I lost the prefix of Honorable Member recently, anyone know how long it'll take to recoup it?

  • 08.06.2009 3:34 PM PDT

Words of wisdom all around, but no one ever seems to listen. The words are all around but the words are only sound. But nobody seems to listen. Instead they'll say, "Well how could we of known?" I'll tell em, "It's really not so hard to tell. keep adding stones, and the water gets lost in the well."

I was actually rather excited on August 3rd, it was my 4 year marker, and I was almost positive I would be bumped to Mythic.

No luck... :*(

It depends.

I'd guess a few months. I got to Heroic in five months of posting on this account, so it'll probably be faster with a prefix.

Same zid, yestetrday was my one year mark and I was hoping I would get Heroic back, guess not. I think the system really only does "boosts" on the first of each month...

That sounds about right. I got my tittle upgrade around the beginning of this month.

Yeah, a week ago marked the first of the month, and we all saw a lot of rank changes in that day. We saw two people go to up to Mythic Status, and a lot of people go up or down in a rank.

By that logic I should be King of the Universe! by now. Time alone does not affect you "status". A combination of time AND activity. Correct me if I am wrong but I am sure that the modz or web team w/e...Can manually change your status although I am sure if they do it happens very infrequently. At one point(2007 or 2008) I used to be Mythic I was not active for quite awhile so my title dropped to Heroic. I started posting more and quickly it went to legendary. Then the prefixes were introduced and now I have been at Exalted Legendary Member ever since.

Of course, you must understand that you don't get a "boost" every first of the month. I am sure it is a cumulative look at your history at B.Net, and promoted, demotes, or does nothing based on your history up to that time.

From what I've seen, not every member gets a "monthly boost" in trust... I'm pretty sure it's only the previously banned members just starting to recover from their ban and regain the system's trust. Also, it doesn't seems to be a monthly occurrence. It seems to be a one time thing that just happens to be on the 1st of the month X amount of months after the member's ban.

Well, I think that every month the system looks at each member and thier ban history/activity/trust rating and other such things and decides wether to ignore them, or give them a promotion or demotion given on the given factors.
