I will be here on BNET 1 year and 3 months in 3 days. Heroic maybe?
It's not about quantity, it's all about quality and I don't think you are meeting the right criteria. But I could be wrong.

I like...

Although I'm not certain 6 months is long enough to be Heroic. 9 - 12 months is a safer bet in my opinion.

Intrepid/Fabled, have to have something to do with private groups. Otherwise I don't see how I couldn't have either one. Last time I checked on that script for ppd I had 17 or something...and apparently people are getting them around 8.
I wouldn't be suprised if it involved being active in MULTIPLE groups, not just total group activity.

Anyhow I remember that I got my heroic pretty quickly. Before a year, for sure. At the most 9 months...probably even less, I'm thinkin' eight.

Lucky, were you very active?

I'm not sure about slayerspidey, but I remember that I became a Heroic member only 7 months after I joined. I was extremely active in the Halo 3 forum and a few groups at the time, so I'd say it's possible to hit Heroic before 9 months has passed.
Well, I know that I had been one in August 2008 (I remember losing it after having no internet connection for a week)...and it was nothing new then.
I was probably as active then as I was now, if not more, and I made more threads because of the File Forums.
I'm gonna go do some research to see if I can't find out when I became a heroic; I remember a few threads that I made posts in that centered around my title...hope the search bar doesn't fail me.
Either way it's clear that the title can be attained in at least eight months, or even less.
Edit-I looked at some old threads and I'm gonna take an educated guess that I was promoted to heroic around July/Late June 2008. During that time period I was insanely active in terms of thread making and maybe a little more in terms of post count.

gnome13 just unlinked his gamertag and went from Mythic to Legendary. This provides good evidence for the role of a linked gamertag.
I've said this from the beginning. It's good to finally have some harder evidence.

Haha it doesn't matter that much.
But if you really have to know, just be active in everything on B.net.
That should help.

1 year for Heroic Member. So yea... I like "member" better.

Can a mod ban me? Preferably Butane123 or Stosh? kthxbai.

You alright?
1. Why do you want to be banned?
2. Why does it matter who bans you?
3. Why don't you like heroic member?

Please don't be offended or anything I just would really like to know why... you know.

Just get yourself into some regular posting habits. Like many others have said, posting isn't all about quantity, but more about quality. Longer posts seem to be better for your title than tons and tons of one-line posts. Taking your time, thinking out what you'd like to say, and then typing it all up neatly not only looks good, but it seems to be a good way to move your title up.

And let's not forget that it is just a title. Sure, it's nice to have, but posting just to gain a title seems pretty silly. Have fun in what you do, and don't do it just to do it.

-insert one-line "that's what she said" post here-

Don't do that, understood? )

You know who she is?
Your mom.

Alright, DON'T DO THAT^^^
Its bad for your social life.
And your title.
Because its gonna be SENT TO BANADU.

The above post is pretty much correct by the way, not just turn into a 1 liner troll. Because the only people who even marginally like trolls are their mothers and other trolls.

I think I see what you did there, but I don't have my contacts in.

And seeing you post reminds me...

You should be all recovered from your title blacklist fairly soon, shouldn't you? Do you remember when you were banned, and how long it lasted so that we have another member to look at for title recovery?

Yeah, consistency also probably makes a difference.

Anyhow, are there any examples of someone getting heroic in a span of six months? If not then IMO it should be changed to "Eight to Twelve, possibly more."

Eh i don't think I'll be moving up any time soon. I'm starting to see a lot of familiar faces ranking up though due to activity. I just simply don't have the time anymore to post consistently. With ODST and this silly thing called life i tend to be pretty busy. Has anyone received a "rank up" by just logging in everyday ? I noticed while i was in the mountains for a few days that my title dropped instantly, but i got it back just as quickly by posting. It would definitely be comforting to know that i don't have to sacrifice part of my life to keep up with my title on bungie.net.

I'm different. I also found out a really good way how not to get banned.

But yea. I would have had a way better title, but i'm having too much fun. ;)

Lol alrighty then.
I'd rather not be banned.
I recently achieved my first title other than member.
I wish to keep it for a while.
You know?
I understand your point in all of this.
Although I have a lot of fun without getting banned.

As in, I have fun without getting in trouble.
I probably phrased that wrong.

Was it not said previous in this thread that linking and unlinking your GT made a difference in your title??

-blam!-! I've been doing this B.Net thing wrong!

It seems that length of time on the site is a large deciding factor for titles.

-I've been banned many times on this account.

-I haven't used this account regularly for a months before I started posting on it again.

And when I started posting again, I got bumped up to Heroic pretty quickly.

Don't post for the title, post for the conversation, to help others out and to have fun. If while you're doing that you happen to get a new title, it's just a sweet awesome bonus :)
I thought it was going to take forever to get to a Heroic member since I've been banned 3 times a warned twice. All I did was post often for about a year and it finally came. Then, something I expected even less happened, I went from Heroic to Legendary in only a week. Sure, I had no xbox so I was on here more than usual but I wasn't posting just because I wanted the next title. Of course I think it'd be awesome to become Mythic but I'm not going to spam just for the title.

Yes conversation is great. However people tend to respond to people of a higher title much more often than not. We can all try and down play it to look like a better person, but we all do it. It's simple human nature to be elitist. Conversation is incredibly difficult when you're "competing" with persons of a higher title than you. I've had numerous times where i post an incredibly well thought out post with great points and nobody responds because they'reresponding to someone higher up who hasn't said anything other than some inside joke. I believe titles can actually hinder the conversation factor of the site. By leveling the playing field or at least make it so it's a personalized experience i think the quality of conversation would increase significantly. I apologize if that sounded rantish i just thought i would speak my mind.

Perhaps. I try my best to respond to anyone who makes a good point, although I doubt I'd be able to convince you that I'm being truthful about that.

I think that the title system can be viewed in many different ways that don't encourage elitism. For example, the only title that I really pay attention to is my own, just as a reminder to myself to keep playing nice. Aside from that, I try my best to ignore the titles when I'm not trying to figure out how they work.

It's just that those who are reputable and idolized here have most likely been members for a long time, so they most likely also have an elevated title.

...I believe titles can actually hinder the conversation factor of the site. By leveling the playing field or at least make it so it's a personalized experience i think the quality of conversation would increase significantly. I apologize if that sounded rantish i just thought i would speak my mind. In some ways it would be nice if everyone had an equal shot at conversing within these forums, but for the most I think that a lot of the people here have earned their reputation, good and bad. You'll get back what you put in, it may just take some time.

Ultimately, I believe that you're not competing with another member's title, you're competing with their reputation. Removing the titles won't change that because people are only going to listen to those who they recognise and trust here, just like every where else. So until you've made a name for yourself, expect to be ignored by those who are afraid to listen to the "little guy".
