I've seen many members promoted quite recently, must be by a sudden influx of new members due to ODST.

Yep was promoted to day. Err. . yesterday. .
But it is. . or was the first of the month so. .
Doesn't really matter anyway.
It's just a title.
I might even lose it this weekend due to not posting at all because I'll be gone.
Whatevs. . .

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

The titles are relative, right? So my question is, is there a limited number of titles, or is it a percentage of the member base? I mean, is itthat there are hypothetiaclly only 3000 legendary members, or is it 5 percent of the population?

Does anyone even read these?

It's more likely to be a percentage, easier to update the number of members to a certain title.

Well I got my title up again, this doesn't make sense. On the 28th I got moved down to "member" and then after the boost nothing had happened and now on the 2nd, I get it back. This title system is very odd.

woo! back to a member!

*thumbs up*

Hmmm. Then it would definitely mean there will be more titles given out with the "recon phenomenon" bringing in a ton more members.

I also thought that new members joining due to ODST release might influence player titles.

Yeah with the sudden activity of the website you might see more jumping around in titles but i havent really seen any that so it might just be something i thought would happen.

Reach MMO. Here's to hoping.

And the people that believe "the hardcore playlists would be more popular if the rules were strictly MLG" can come off it, now. If you're not willing to support something close to your own setup, there's no reason for us to believe that cloning our own lists and stripping the variety down will attract more people. -- Shishka, Bungie.net

Can someone explain to me how I can be an exalted legendary member?

Exalted - 3 years without ban

Legendary - 1-2 years active member

Uh? If I have been on for over 3 years shouldn't I be Mythic?

Just wondering?

The title system is more specific than being "active" helping out and the works, keep doing the stuff now and you will be well on your way to Mythic. Also this thread is not completely accurate.

Depends on how active you are compared to other mythic members or members in general, there are alot of mythic members here that have been here 4+ years.

lol bnet

Those of you who know my story will understand, but to those who do not:

I used to be a bad person who got banned a ton. I created my first account, Thatairsoftkid, in early October. I created ImTheRealTASK later after my first account was hacked. Being the bad person, I got banned a bit.

Towards Septemberish I started becoming more addicted to Bnet and started to be nicer on the main forums. I created this account in late October.

Around the beginning of 2009, I was a nublet and got banned on this account. Shortly after, someone was stealing Microsoft points (Offering to sell accounts, then stealing MSP.) from people on the H3F. I was banned as he was doing it. I tricked him into revealing to me that he was stealing accounts via AIM, screencapped it, then got on alts and posted the info . . . while banned. There were no mods online until about 30 minutes after I posted the info.

I was banned on this account for avoiding a ban and banned on the two accounts I used until 2070something. (Two accounts were Needlernoob69 and ImTheRealTASK.)

So I should have 2 near-permabans on this account's record, as well as a few regular bans.

Almost a year later, I'm a Fabled Heroic? It's nice to know, as I certainly have changed, but I assumed the system would have falcon-punched my for eternity for having 2 accounts with near-permabans, as well as a few bans/warnings.

Just thought it was an odd story title bar wise.

I'm pretty sure getting banned is like taking away the system's trust in you for a set amount of time which lasts much longer than your ban. When that time passes, all of the points that had been "Taken" because of the ban begin returning, and are added to the points you've accumulated since your ban wore off. This could be why there are a lot of cases where people suddenly go from members to Heroics or Legendaries.

  • 10.02.2009 5:01 PM PDT

The effects of the bans will wear off after a while and you'll go back to what title you should have been as long as you remain active through out the time it takes you to recover! If that makes sense!?

Just an idea BTW!

I'm just saying that Bans make it appear that you're ranking up quickly. Instead of being a member for a few months, than being changed to a heroic, which you will remain at. When you are banned, it seems like at a certain point afterwards, you're rapidly promoted.

It's rather confusing.

This only appears to happen to members that have been heroic, legendary or mythic members. From what i've seen once the ban has wore off their account and that member has stayed active in the community the system will quickly increase their status back to what it was originally. There are different factors that also effect this as in how old the account is and how active the member is. (there are bound to be more factors)

I told you to watch out for that Legendary title, didn't I? I had a feeling that it would be coming up for you soon enough, and it sure did.

Now we can be twins, unfortunately. I still like the looks and sound of my Noble prefix better :-P

There's no set time. All you can do is stay active and keep away from trouble. Try to have fun with it though. It's pointless to be stressed out about a color.

Your account is barely over a year old, and my title went to legendary when my account was about a year and a half old. Have you been banned before? That might affect things.
