Sigh... I was Mythic and then got dropped down to Legendary for bumping up a friend's thread... sucks. Is there any way I can contest that... it was out of the best intention!!!
I'm going to be as truthful as possible. I'm not trying to be mean.

People complaining about losing their title is ridiculous.

Achronos has said numerous times that the system s automatic. There is no way to contest it, and doing so will usually result in a warning/ban (usually from Achronos).

By breaking the rules, you risk losing your title. Simple as that.

You can try to contest if you want, but I strongly recommend not doing that.

You can be a "good member," and eventually you'll probably get your title back, but what is a "good member" anyways? Someone who doesn't break the rules? Someone who posts a lot? A Mythic Member? Who knows Who cares. Just be yourself and have fun.

I don't know the answers. Assuming I do simply because I created this FAQ or I'm a Mythic Member is ludicrous. I know no more than anyone else. Sure, I brought the information together, but that's it. Anyone could have done that. I just use common sense. Again, anyone could do that.

That's all I got to say on the matter.
I agree with you completely. I hope I didn't come across as complaining about the system. I didn't have a problem with the way any thing was done. I was more curious than any thing else.

As far as who the who cares comment I look at it a little different. It's not some thing that is super important to me as in the end it's just a title in a video game forum. On the other hand though I do pay more attention to people here who seem to have the ability to try to understand more than their own point of view and have an objective conversation. While title definitely does not denote that ability it does add weight.

P.S. I noticed that my title has changed again. Hmm.

Agreed.

However, I also judge on how that member presents themself and their content they post.

Very true. There are people here with the member title who are just as objective as I am, if not more, and definitely much smarter than me. It's just so easy for their comments to get lost in all of the "filler" that is here now.

This thread makes me laugh. All I see are people complaining about a title they lost but now have again since they posted their complaint (there is no correlation complaining doesn't get your title back), the fluxing is great!

Reeeeeeeeeeeach, mmmmkay.

I had the Title: Master of the Universe, but got bumped down to a lowly Mythic Member. :)

Seriously though, VERY nice post. I lost my Mythic membership a while back and I totally understand why people panic. After I saw this, I understood that the qualifications float back and forth. I was worried that I had done something wrong.

Man Durado.....your threads are the best.

Oh, BTW, I'm not sure if this was mentioned already, but isn't the Certain Affinity Guy no longer from Certain Affinity? :)

Correct.

But it was still a title a title at one time.

Hey, I just thought I'd throw my 2 cents here. Although some people believe the Member Titles are somehow linked to the quantity of posts, I believe that my rank is a perfect example of a Mythic Member, with a low number of posts. 179 at this time. But I have been around for a long time, and my B.Net account is linked to my Gamertag.

I really would like to know the inner workings of the math involved with figuring the system, but I can see why it has to be so hush-hush.But yeah, just throwing that out there, I didn't read more than a few pages sorry if this has been said anywhere before.

  • 04.17.2008 12:22 PM PDT

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I can guarantee you that there is a lot of complex formulas an such that go into that that only Achronos knows.

Taxes do nothing to affect the share of wealth, since taxes are only applied to income.

So that's not even a part of the conversation at all, so it's pointless talking about it....

"for a "best" moral to exist, there must exist the "best" moral base. If the base of morality varies from location to location, culture to culture...then there can't be an absolute moral..

man, i hope that you are right. i would love to read posts that are written by guys who are brighter and more reasonable that notnooborelite. member, heroic, all the way up to mythic, i'd have a tough time coming up with a list of bnet posters with the chops of notnoob and duardo. while i go on and on (and on, and on) about the vacuous nature of the ranks, it is nice that these two have received the top honors. duardo has made many posts in attempts to help inform bnet members in many ways, and notnoob has made many posts attempting to help improve mm.

well, that is enough kindness out of me. time to get back to pointing out unwarranted claims in the optimatch forums.

Nobody cared what title you have, Piercing, because we all know you cheated to get it.
