So...posting in private groups count too?
Yeah althought i don't think it counts as much as posting in the main forums.
Yeah, I think just using as much as you can (being active in every forum and loads of groups) should make you have a more wiser title.

I still don't understand why I'm still at member status and I've been posting here since October 2007
I would assume that you've been banned somewhat recently since you don't have a ban history related prefix, and getting banned has a huge negative affect on an individual's trust value.

Well I guess I better put some pants on.

I feel like I'm gonna break this thing!

The maximum rating is a 5 digit number but not 10,000.
I'm going to make an assumption that it's 12,000 because Achronos' was 9,142 earlier this year, and while the maximum is practically unreachable, I can't imagine it being WAY out of people's reach, and I also assumed it would be a round number (ending in 000). The exact number isn't the point.

At the rating of 665 your title is 'Member' and at 9,152 you are one of the top members.

If the borders between each title are round numbers then I imagine the borders to be something like:
<2000 = Member
2000 - 5000 = Heroic Member
5000 - 8000 = Legendary Member
8000+ = Mythic Member

That's just a quick idea.
I'm still unsure of whether the the mythic boundary is lower or not, and if the ratings for the titles is more exponential or not.

Edit:
<1000 = Member
1000 - 2500 = Heroic Member
2500 - 5500 = Legendary Member
55000+ = Mythic Member

I'd say it's plausible, but keep in mind that Achronos' trust rating is among the highest there is, so if the Mythic boundary is close to his trust value then there would be very few Mythic members. Considering that the 2007 members are starting to become Mythic, 5-6 years after Achronos' join date, I would say that the Mythic trust value requirement is much lower than what you said.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

If I were active enough, I might be Mythic :P

I agree with this, especially when taking into account percentages of the boundaries etc.

I'll edit my post.

Another thing to consider is that we also don't know how much the maximum trust value has increased/changed since he gave us those numbers a year ago. For all we know, Achronos' trust value is twice as big as it was back then.

This is the flaw with making number specific theories when you only have a couple of data points in a dynamic medium. It is impossible, so the best we can do is to make generalised theories.

I feel so terrible. I've had two short bans early in my Bungie.net life and it seems that they have scared my chances of ever being higher than a Honorable Member. It did not use to phase me, but it's been so long since a rank-up I'm starting to think that it's never going to happen. Does anybody have a situation similar to mine that worked out? I just feel that I need a bit of a pick me up.

No, no, no. The very fact your an honorable member shows that any effect a ban would give you has likely subsided. You just aren't active enough.
Over the summer I was extremely active. I posted like 40 posts per day, which I kept at that rate for about 3 weeks. Got a one week ban, and went from Honorable to Member. Continued posting after that week was up, went back up to Honorable after 3 posts (because my PPD was so freaking high). I later received a 3 day ban, which put me down but I came back shortly and have been clean ever since. I might have that order of bans mixed up but they resulted the same.

That's not possible. The Honorable Prefix takes an ~1 year absence of bans to obtain. If you were banned for 3 days, as soon as that ban ended, you would have to stay unbanned for about a year to get Honorable again.
It's possible, I did it twice.

Well with that prefix, I think it was because of the fact that he had already earned it when he got banned, so he'd get it back after...and it wouldn't have taken as long because he had already gone a year without being banned...?????

I also still had my "honorable" prefix after being banned.

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

This is the effect of people making assumptions in the system.

Here's something to clear up about bans. They have a temporary effect, and they have a long term effect. The temporary effect is very large, lowers about two titles, say Mythic to Heroic. The long term effect can usually be toppled over by a couple weeks activity.

Also people, posting "like forty posts a day" for three weeks isn't active. Take it from the dude with the fabled title. Activity is all about being consistent. I've lost track of my PPD script but I probably make about ten a day on the main forums nowadays, but it's the fact that I am on the sight doing things or posting in groups that can also effect this.

Basically, to gain member titles or prefixes for activity, it isn't about quantity (well, you should have a decent figure), but it's consistency.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

EDIT:
Posted by: Phoenix9508That seemed like a shot at me, no problem. I've been here 10 months longer than you have. I average 13 PPD when you average 7.5.

Some people think that prefixes fabled and intrepid have nothing to do with ban history when they obviously do.
My Member Title seems to defy everyone's theories of the system, weird.

It doesn't lower 2 titles. Not once have I been banned and lowered that much. I've had at least 3 separate bans before. Also, you say you're clearing it up, can I have some proof?

I doubt bans affect intrepid/fabled much, if at all.

I recently got a 2 week ban and I lost my heroic+intrepid but about 2 days after I was unbanned I got intrepid back.
