Since organized communities are usually more enjoyable, you should take your time to read the forum rules to save yourself some trouble and help keep the forums clean :-)

These last few pages have consisted of hardly anything but talk of "hight post counts".

I'd much rather have everything go back to actual theorizing and guesswork like it used to me. We all seem to of forgotten about everything outside of post count, with the exception of a few people.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Perhaps "last few pages" was putting it a little too lightly...

Yes, it was. In fact, I'm starting to wish that script was never made.

Carpe Diem - Carpe Coffee

Astronomy Picture of the Day!

I said this a couple pages ago, which was just this afternoon, but I think all discussion of PPD should be banned from this thread unless it specifically relates to the titles in some way.

There's too much unnecessary traffic in this thread and the discussion has devolved into a "who can post more" pissing contest. The amount of spam, off-topic discussion, and even blatant rule breaking posts is growing every day it seems, and it's getting to be more and more frustrating for those who are actually trying to stick to the topic.

If you want to know what your PPD is;
Use the greasemonkey script or PM someone that can figure it out for you.

If you want to talk/brag about how high your PPD is or how many times you can post in a day;
Create a group or something.

If you want to flame other members behind their back;
Do it somewhere else if you really have to do it at all.

This thread is not for those things, so stop doing them.

Thank you Spudster, for that display of awesomeness.
;D

Now we can get back to talking about how sometimes people that get banned/warned can still maintain a "banless" prefix, such as Honorable, Noble, Exalted.

Hm?

For example, someone is a Intrepid Legendary Member and they get banned.

They lose both their prefix and member title?

I'm fairly sure they'd (at least) go down to Heroic, depending on the degree of the ban.

I have seen someone lose their "Legendary" and "Intrepid" from being banned twice in a row, though.

Crazy.

SPARTANS! WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION?!

AOOH, AOOH, AOOH!

This is all so confusing. All I know is, I've been here for a year, and I'm an Honorable Member.

I'm 100% positive that whilst a user is banned they cannot gain a title nor a prefix. As soon as their ban expires and they begin posting their Intrepid or Fabled status will return or be given to them if they had Exalted but still posted a lot. Well, I've regained my Fabled status straight away every time.

If you were a high ranked member then you are promoted to Heroic and above far faster than a lower ranked member.

No matter how many times we suggest that stupid high post counts are pointless, in more ways that one.

Well I had Fabled Legendary, then I got a 7 day ban reduced to 3. While I was banned I had no title but as soon as I started posting I regained my Fabled. Though when I recieved a warning I didn't lose my prefix.

What's interesting is some time ago when the prefixes were first added I had Intrepid. I was banned and when it expired I had Fabled. So it's a bit odd.

Quality over quantity.

I'm pretty sure that this has something to do with receiving a higher title. From what I've seen the two main things that really get you a higher title are quality posts, and how long the account has been around. Perhaps the factor that determines if you've made a "quality post" is how many characters are in you post; The more characters, the quicker you'll get a higher title.

Maybe even using links and hyperlinks has something to do with ranking up, or using anything from the formatting legend. Possibly correct grammar and spelling helps you recieve a higher title.

I've often wondered how these "banless" prefixs work, my case is no different. I was banned around January and still maintained my honorable prefix? Its definately strange! ;D

The system is automatic and cannot determine whether your post is "quality" or not. If the system just took into account how long a post was, I would create an alt and just say the same things over and over again.
