Hey quick question...I read the Original Post of the thread, and I understood the whole 'innocent for x amount of time', but as I recall, old requirements for a membership upgrade required little to no bans at all. What if, say, I had 5 plus bans. Does this automatically purge all chances of me ever receiving an upgrade more than honorable / noble? As in, would it be possible to move up to Heroic after a pretty bad ban history? Would it depend on what the bans were for?

Thanks ahead of time.
I don't think that you can be permanentally held back from gaining an elevated title (prefix or base) unless you are currently under a permaban. Basically, the more times you get banned, the longer it will take to obtain an elevated title. You'll eventually get an elevated title if you play nice long enough. ^_^

In August I lost my "Honorable" title due to a temporary ban. Joined a spam group and didn't know it, sucked.

Is it possible to get that role back sooner than 1 year?

So I guess group bans DO affect your overall title?
I didn't know that.

I don't think you'll ever get your "Honorable" back since it is meant to be a sign of no bans for that particular user.

But like Kendog, you can sometimes get a ban that doesn't affect your prefix at all.

Again, this is a very weird system.

Hey, nothin special here :P

Hey, thanks Karl2177 and JBSpudster.

One more quick question; What if I had about 10 or more, would I be better off just trying to start over? I know it probally isn't worth it all, just going through a new account to achieve a new prefix, but frankly, at least 6 of my bans are just little things, that I can't stand holding me back :\

I'd like to just start over, and have a normal account.

Thanks again, ahead of time.

I still think it would be from the last ban for a prefix. For a title(Heroic, Legendary, Mythic) it would probably be a bit longer due to the high amount. Maybe you could help us sample, by posting: How long your bans were, when they were issued, and what for.

Tonight, I can finally link my account to my original 3 star general account. Think I might go up in trust?
I doubt it will make an immediate effect on your title but will certainly help with your trust rating!?

Not really. The negative trust influencer that bans bring upon your trust value only lasts a limited time. Then once that influencer is removed say X months after a ban, you will regain most if not all of the trust you would have had if you weren't banned at all, resulting in "jumping" or "skipping" to an elevated title.

Maybe you could help us sample, by posting: How long your bans were, when they were issued, and what for.Well, on this, I've got two; one relatively large one, and one 3 day one (I think it's only those two atleast). The 3 day ban was for "replying to spam", which I'd imagine isn't too big of a deal.

But my next one was a huge deal, which I managed to plead my case for, since I was technically innocent.

I was banned for a month or two on account of a 7 page accumulate of Spam threads about "The Flood School". I had accidentally sparked the whole ordeal with a thread about a "Flood Plague", which users soon began to exploit and as I had just stated, blew it up until about 30-40 users were banned, I one of them.

I talked to just Another Fan, who shortened it after hearing me out.

And those are my only two bans that I am aware of.

So could I possibly jump from nothing to Legendary at some point in time?

Look what happened to me. It took me about a year to get heroic , was banned shortly after and took almost six months get a title back.

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

Well, no you couldn't, mostly because you're not starting at nothing anymore.

The bans will eventually 'wear' off your account, i'm not too sure how long that will take thought!?

Surely I would be a Mythic Member by now if this was true! I demand clarification.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

Oh, and look, it's the first of the month. More proof, if any was needed, that ban effects expire monthly.

What is interesting is you jumped up to Legendary. I think this suggests that there is little/no permanent effect from a ban. You don't lose trust, or you don't lose a significant amount of trust. In fact, you are higher in trust than you were when you were banned.

I can only assume all banning does is "hide" your title with the negative modifier, but it doesn't really hurt your trust, at all.

Haha just saw that thread, i would of thought that you would of been higher than a mythic member if that was one of the ways to become one lol

I received a warning for a thread linking H3 screenshots, but I still have honorable status. Glitch? Or has the system not kicked in yet?

The OP says "1. Honorable - No bans/warnings in 1 year."

I'm confused.

Nothing in the OP is fact. It's all a compilation of educated guesses. I also found out that one was false. Warnings and bans usually tend to give enough negative trust points to send someone down a rank, but you had more points over your Honorable status than those were taken away. I would guess you were close to a rank up but are now very far from one.

Warnings are kind of confusing, in terms of what their role is within the title system, since they seem to affect each of the base titles/prefixes differently. The quote you are referring to in the OP is a generalization since no one is really quite sure of the specifics at this point.

Thanks, that's a good enough explanation for me.

No, I think he meant that he got banned from the mains for joining a group made for spamming.
