If I had one wish for Bungie.net, it would be to be able to change my username. Even if it cost me Microsoft Fun-Money, Space Bucks, or Stosh Dollars. That is all.

I'm sorry. This is the part where I say go post a lot, be active, and stay out of trouble if you want to bump your member title up.

I don't think that PPD really has too much effect on titles. At least, PPD on the mains... I think that signing in on a regular basis and having a good combination of posts in private groups and in the mains is what really matters when it comes to titles.
I've posted about 5 times in private groups, since I joined.
And there have been periods of time where I barely posted in the mains, yet posted actively in private groups, and kept my title.

If I miss a day of not posting how badly will that affect my title right now?

Not by much from my own experience. I rarely ever post on the weekends, I am a Legendary. All I can say is that it depends on your overall activity.

  • 12.09.2009 6:23 PM PDT

Yeah, I am active most of the week but this Saturday I am going to be out of town and I was wondering if I would lose my title.

  • 12.09.2009 6:25 PM PDT

Ten bucks says I'll never have title beyond Member.

... I've had 10 or 11 messages from The Soul.

You have coup. It doesn't matter, nobody (important) see it.

Obliviously you just got it? A lot of people I know turn off Coup sometimes when reading a[n] (important) post, so they can see their title. Title says a lot about behavior and such, otherwise, there would be no point in the system.

Eh?

I don't think title has very much to do with behaviour...

I've seen many mythic members do ridiculous things, myself included.

I've also seen normal members act far more sensible.

I still think it is no more than a pretty hat...

Agreed.

No talking about you in particular, but I've seen Mythic members sometimes get mad over the slightest little things, and post sarcastic comments about random things.

It doesn't bother me, it's just funny to know that Mythic members can sometimes be a guaranteed form of lolz, if not all the time.

xD

When enlightenment is the question. The Answer is Pain.
When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.
When love is absent. Hatred fills the void.

Yeah behaviour would have little to do with titles, people can act as polite as they like it doesnt mean they'll get promoted for it...I would not base the importance of a post on the title of the member who posted it...yet I know many people do.

So, yeah I dont think so.

Yes, it does. If you act like a total ass you will be banned, and as such your title will be effected.

And Blah strikes again! He does have point though. Be mean and you get banned, get banned and lose your title... be nice and don't get banned, maybe even advance your title.

I who walk alone in this world wrapped in the arms of the past not knowing what lies ahead of me. What am I? A soulless being to be beaten by the rage of those who hate me? Cutting my way past hopes and dreams. Sit in the window sill as I do every day and night resignations on my slate of who I am and what is left behind. Concealed in the words that chases my every thought. I who walk alone in this world…I am broken

There are many powers in the world, for good or for evil. Some are greater than I am. Against some I have not yet been measured. But my time is coming.

Not necessarily true. I've seen Mythics post things in the Flood, which had anyone else had posted, would have resulted in a ban. Some Mythics just got by without the mods noticing. Some members get banned for things that higher titles get away with.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Your member title does not play a role in decisions in regards to moderating.

But it does indicate how often you are skirting the rules. Most people do it on occasion. If someone has a Mythic title, then they're probably not doing it very often. And, they probably understand what you can get away with much better than the average user.

Weeelll... Not necessarily.

Ok, so I left out posts like this and this, but still.

I guess I really don't have a point. But I wanted to point out sometimes titles are just an indication of how good you are at inching up to that line, but not crossing it.

Exactly. They know what to do and what not to do, but they probably also get the benefit of the doubt (even if the mods don't admit it). If something is questionable and someone is Exalted Mythic or something like that, you know they've been very good up to that point. So if it's close to the line or something that could go either way, they may receive the benefit of the doubt because they've proved themselves over the years. Think of it as reputation. Life works this way all the time.
