I have a question to ask Achronos that doesn't deserve a thread but certainly merits some discussion.

When a thread is locked I assume the OP loses trust however as the system is automated what if the OP asks for the thread to be locked which the moderators do due to the OP's request even though the thread was perfectly acceptable, does the OP still lose trust points? If so this is a serious system flaw.

The only thing I see with this that people don't ask for their own thread to be locked that often, which is probably why it isn't put with a probable high priority if that made any sense.

Seeing that there is a pretty justified rule that is preventing us from creating more threads on this topic I figured that I should post a recent observation here instead.

It seems like someone, accidently or not (Stosh?), hit a switch around noon 5/1/2008. I've noticed a dramatic increase of legendary members. Can it be officialy confirmed that the title criterias have been changed?

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

He is, and so am I.

Could it be that both of us have been here for 2 years?

No one knows (except for the web team). So far, some theories is as far as we can go. :P

Yes and no. I used to be legendary but got blacklisted and stripped of it. As soon as the blacklist expired, earlier today, I went up to legendary again. I thought that was odd so I posted a question in a group asking if I showed up as legendary on their screens too. I did and then others started noticing that they had went up too. I've also noticed that several familiar names in the main forums have gone up today.

I would think/hope that there are no trust points involved with locking threads. Just for the simple fact that plenty of threads follow this kind of format,

OP: I have a question?
Ninja: I have your answer; no more discussion required therefore I will lock.

If I remember right it has been stated that a locked thread takes you down, but only a small bit.

I have posted 490 posts and have been a member since 9/23/2007. I at one point had herioc member status but I think it was lost when I accidently posted an all caps topic and got a warning for it. Will I ever be able to get my Status back?

Wow, you're such an idiot. Trust a Fulham supporter to not know such simple facts.

How else do you think the Xbox 360 could be the fine piece of machinery that it is?

It's largely based on join date, no matter what anyone says. Post a bit, don't break the rules, and you'll be Heroic before you know it.

In general, that gets you up because your trust rating goes up. Put it this way: there are 2 levels of trust based off what you've done, and what you can do. You want the one that is what you've done to be high where the other shouldn't be because that's the uncertainty factor. If the two levels are at a certain, unknown value, you'll increase your B-.net rank. That's just a theory by the way.
Is this correct.

Nng.

After being away for a week or so, I posted a (relatively intelligent) post in a GTA4 thread full of people slamming GTA - The topic was whether Halo 3 could truly be called "next gen" and whether it deserved the hype. I didn't realize their was an official GTA4 thread, or that the site had been inundated with them.

Now I'm a "normal" member again. Whilst the ranks don't mean much, it's pretty disappointing to lose one just for posting in a sea of idiocy. I know I shouldn't have posted in the thread - don't reply to spam etc - but as the thread was related to Halo 3, I didn't think that it might lead to me losing my supercool rank.

Again, I say Nng.

When I was a Heroic Member, I got constant questions asking exactly how it was done, so I linked them to this. More people need to read this thread so random "How does it work?" threads will stop appearing.

Excellent work, Duardo. You'd make an AWESOME Forum Ninja.
