It appears many people got a boost this month. Maybe it has something to do with it being a new year?

Yeah, I thought honorable was good behavior for a year. I've had a 3 day ban and two warnings between now and July.

It's different for everyone. In 2008 I was Honorable and got a ban, but still wasn't demoted to just a normal member. People say that the longer you've been here, the more "leverage" you have with having your title lowered.

I guess some of the titles aren't quite accurate either, I've heard of people getting Intrepid even though they had a really low Post count.

I'm almost certain that, although the B.net web team won't dare admit it, the title and prefix system is an inexact science.

It might be.
Yet, at the same time, every rank change happens exactly as it should according to the programming.
Funny how that works. Like the weather.

You say tomato; I say potato.

I figure you guys would be interested to know that there aren't anymore Mythic members without prefixes. Each that didn't have one from 2009 got prefixes in 2010. The strange part is no one has filled the gap. In my time tracking the mythic members there has been a pretty steady consistency between prefixes. The new year caused the most robust rearrangement of my database since its creation.

Not only does it seem that the new year had something to do with it, it seems like the rules have changed a bit. It used to seem like there was a limit to how many people could have a certain title, but now I'm not so sure.

I always thought titles were used on a percentage scale. If it was instead used on a number scale maybe it's just been tweaked slightly.

Since I've been tracking the Mythic Members the total number of Mythics has been pretty stable. Right now I'm sitting at 188, but I'm absolutely sure that there are Mythics that stick to groups that I've never seen.

The stable number leads me to believe that there is a set number of Mythic Members. Here is my online database last updated yesterday.

Cool database. You you're saying that when one person looses their Mythix, another person gains it? My best guess is that this stable number will be 200. Nice even number.

JB, gnome, or robby could probably produce a link in 2 seconds, but Achronos gave us some numbers once before. (Someone gave it to me no that long ago, but I didn't save it.) It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure it was more than 200.

Thats interesting!! Nice theory, i always thought there would have been some kind of limit to the number of mythic's, legendary etc. Will be interesting to see if any of us notice these changes??

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

It involves the purest form of science: Mathematics. But I'll have to admit as well, I think that they are using mathematics, statistics, and maybe even trig in the prefix system.

So if you have had even a short 3-day ban like a month ago, even if you roll past an anniversary date (1yr, 2yr, 3yr etc.) you won't get a new title until a certain length of time has elapsed since that ban. I'm kind of thinking to myself....and typing it up at the same time.

The last title population cesus that Achronos gave out was from a year and a half ago, in which he said that there should be around 200 Mythic Members. Since that statement is somewhat outdated, I would assume the actual number is between 200 and 300 current Mythic Members.

It seems a lot of people who will have a B.Net anniversary in March are getting some upgraded titles.

Very interesting. How exactly are you tracking the mythic members, and what patterns are emerging through your analysis?

How much more active should I be to go from Heroic-Legendary?
Didnt you get a warning for that xbox.com thread? That was just a couple of days shy of two months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a change in 3 or 4 days.
No, I didn't actually. Which surprised me.

Yes, I understand that from what little we know is that there IS a formula(s) but we haven't discovered a pattern or trend yet. IIRC this time last year there wasn't such a sudden influx of prefix promtoions as there is currently.
