Enlightening. I think I will play Halo now for the greater good of my Title.

One thing. Someone help me in SWAT. XD

Actually, now that I think of it, maybe it involves all of Bungie's online-enabled games? I think it's plausible since online games are recorded by Xbox, and Bungie.net isn't about strictly Halo, it just seems to be the current focal point. Do you see what I mean? Maybe older games like Marathon show you're a "veteran" or you may have been sticking with Bungie longer than others.
I doubt that playing classic Bungie games have a bigger weight on your member title. One more thing LordOfBlah, you care way too much about your title. It does not make you better than anymore, I hope you realise this soon enough.

Chill for a bit mmkay?

That was sarcasm. I care nothing about SWAT. I'm a 40 in it from playing a ton with my (obsessed) General Friends. Don't try to push me down; You're on here just as much as me.

I want my Halo 2 SWAT back.

I'm talking about your behaviour overall on the forums and in groups, not just that post.

Look, I'm not trying to insult you or anything but this comment is exactly what I'm talking about. Don't try and push you down? I'm not saying your less of a normal member, obviously you think you're above. Exactly what I'm pointing out. You also seem to think that I'm on the forums merely for a title and thinking that I'm higher than everyone else, you are wrong.

Or at least the same recognizable user (caches not clear, same browser, etc.)

Also, while I have something on topic down, I just realized this. How do you link someone's post in that manner? I never found out.
I hit "Reply", and then "Cancel". The post should be in the url bar. As for posts that have been locked or archived, I have no clue.
Woah, that's actually a much easier way to do it then what I do. I usually hit reply and then toggle with the url. Remove 'create', add an 's' onto post and remove '&act=reply' or something like that.
Jeez, that's waayyyy more work than you need. Still curious about archived and locked... I'm testing somethings now.

EDIT: Jeez you two, we r al =.

Find one post where I use my title as an "asset" to show how I'm "better than them", and I'll be satisfied. PM it to me, as I do not want this to go on any longer.

By the way "push me down" is a figure of speech, a thing we call "irony". It's a metaphor meaning don't be mean. Basically, "kick me when I'm down", do you get that?

To be honest I can't be bothered, but hopefully you'll notice it more from now on. That's all I was really aiming for, not to insult you or anything. Also I don't see the irony unless my statement boosted your ego more. :|

Anyway, not to be completely off-topic, would you guys think that clocking up hours in the Reach beta would have an effect on your title seeing as gameplay of Bungie games have been said to do so?

Its highly doubtful that playing Halo will improve your title or prefix here.
Don't be too sure. It is debatable on how much influence it actually has, but Achronos has hinted that game participation matters.Posted by: Achronos
The trust rating already includes elements of game participation.
I am really curious about the game participation aspect of the title system. Mainly because Achronos was intentionally vague in explaining the degree of influence game participation has on one's title.

There could be some elaborate equation that takes into consideration how many Bungie games you play, and how frequently you play them, which dictates your trust rating to an extent. Or, on the other hand, he could have just been referring to how linking a gamertag to a bungie.net profile increases the trust rating of that profile. His post doesn't specify, so it really could be as simple or complex as you can imagine.

Different accounts don't interact. The only possibly way I can see that happening is if you were banned for trying to bypass a ban on another account.
This is debatable, actually. JB just posted some links to some of Achronos' earlier comments when the titles first came out. He made it sound like there was a connection.Posted by: Achronos
Remember, the purpose would be to try and make sure that someone can't escape their past, even if they create a new account.
Again, all of Achronos' comments regarding this aspect of the title system have been intentionally vague, therefore they can be interpreted in a multitude of ways. It's the little comments like this one;

The fact that you aren't seems to indicate the system is working quite nicely - what with your gigantic negative trust rating and all.
That make me question if there is really a 'trust link' between alternate accounts via some tracking tool, or if Achronos is just talking about perhaps this user may have been 'Soul banned' from the beginning when creating the alternate accounts. It's just interesting to speculate.

Apologies in advance for how crazy this post is gonna look.

EDIT: Meh, not too bad. ^_^

I was thinking more of a negaqtive side of view. IE. Banned on one account so the trust rating on a new account is already low. But like I stated before, it has some flaws as when 2 or more people in a household all have accounts.

It's never easy, is it?

I'm glad they added how to obtain the ranks.

*Priority comes into play only when a user qualifies for more than one member title

So since I've been here for a little over a year, that means I will be more likely to obtain Heroic than another?

The system seems to be working as theorized. I've been here for over 2 years without a ban and started posting more frequently outside of my groups. Now I'm Noble and Heroic. I guess if I keep it up for another month or so I should see Legendary... ?

Questions, guys. I don't care much about title bars, mostly because of Coup, but out of curiosity, I'd like someone to clear some things up if possible.

I've been banned six times since this account's creation in the middle of March last year. (Only three were justified, but I won't go there.) Of those bans, two were one weeks, and the other four were three days. Now, the last time I was banned was two or three months ago (not exactly sure). My questions are;

Shouldn't ban history have less affect on getting an Intrepid/Fabled title than one like Honorable (ban history title)? Does it?

And about the Honorable title; my understanding is that you must go without a ban for a year or so to get it. Would this be longer for me considering I've been banned so many times? Or will I get it about a year after my last ban?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think ban history has any if not little effect on Intrepid of Fabled. I was banned on Intrepid once and came back Fabled. Honorable, Noble and Exalted are the only ones which should take effect.

Though I wonder if you receive a warning just before a year of a clean history you will need to start over again or you're simply delayed the title for 3 months or something.

It's a ratio kind of thing. There are people who have been banned, and who keep their ban related prefix (Exalted, I believe, has no tolerance of bans/warnings. One and you're done for who knows how long). One would assume the higher you get, the less you can get away with.

I don't know how long it would take you to get a ban related prefix, especially with 6 bans, even if they were short. It may be that you'll get a post related prefix before that.

Also Badballer, you were Intrepid before your ban, and after your ban you were Fabled? It could be you just got it coincidentally while posting in groups... Or the ban could have had something to do with it. I have something of a theory, but I'm going to let it brew in my head for a little bit.

edit: Grammar :(

I actually had a friend who was a Fabled Member, then got banned (not sure for how long) and lost it. He was a member for a short period of time, then got the Intrepid title back. Not long after that, he was banned again, and has now been a member for a while (but also hasn't posted much on the main forums.).So obviously bans have something to do with even post count titles.

Uhh, yeah. A ban will remove ANY Title and ANY Prefix.

Yeah, while you're banned you're a Member. However, when you come back, you may keep your prefix, you may change prefixes, and depending on your trust, you may have Heroic, Legendary, or Mythic.

Well, the thing is even if someone halway figure it out, Bungie would never let us know that something is actually correct. That would destroy the whole system.

It's fun though to "theorize".

That works with prefixes. Right now, I probably qualify for Honorable and Noble. So, as a result, the Noble has priority over the Honorable.

That's why I would think that Noble would be a higher title than Intrepid or Fabled.

I went fron Noble to Intrepid and to be honest I was pretty happy with the Noble prefix.

Alright.

So, I got a 1 week in late December for a sarcastic comment.
And a 1 week earlier this month for a form of rank trolling i did not know existed (I do now)

And i've decided to be a good boy, and try to get my heroic back.

About how long would this take? Im patient, im just trying to get a time-frame on things.

I've grown tired of being a "member" =[

Around about 5-8 months maybe. There's a lot of variables to consider so I'm not to sure really.
