For example, TrancendArcus has been here for 3 months and he is an active member. He went up to Heroic member for a couple days then lost his title.
*Sob* It's so true!

I'm pretty sure that was just a glitch though, I don't think I could have possibly gone up to heroic so quickly and still be legitimate. But I like being a regular member, I just delude myself into thinking that there is nowhere to go but up. And when I don't go up in terms or forum rank, I tell myself that I can't sink any lower. It balances out perfectly!

EDIT: I'm getting close to four months yay!

thats the spirit. i like being herioc but i thought i was due to go up and then i looked at the times people had joined and how much they post. i think its going to be a long time before i go up.
booze and bribery should speed up the process though.

It wasn't a glitch that made you go up to a Heroic Member. That is how the trust system works. We (the community) don't know every single detail to the trust system, but I am pretty sure it wasn't a glitch that made you a Heroic Member. You probably went down because of the way trust is calculated. Yes, I don't have a clue on how trust is calculated, but it can affect your trust. Warnings and blacklistings can affect trust, but other factors can, too.

I know a friend who used to be a Heroic Member. Than, he stopped logging on to Bungie.net for about two months because his computer broke. He logged on yesterday, and he was no longer a Heroic Member.

Webcam MVP, Theme Master, and all Forum Ninja/Bungie Employees have that. It's because they are custom titles.

Actually, the titles "Forum Ninja" and "Master Forum Ninja" do not have that.

Well, remember, the custom role (Webcam MVP, Theme Master, Bungie Employee) carry on into groups, however, the roles "Forum Ninja" and "Master Forum Ninja" do not. For example, if a Webcam MVP posted in a group forum, their title will show as "Webcam MVP" in the group forum. If a Forum Ninja posted in a group forum, their title will be whatever the Admin has given them.

Good point. I've seen that a lot actually, but it never registered.

Yes because I am a two year old member, and had been a legendary member for quite a while, and a few weeks ago I logged on and I am now a Heroic member, can someone fix this? Or was I always a Heroic member?

That's actually at its funniest when you're in a group like "[The Cult]"...where everyone's title and thread name is required to start and end with square brackets ([...]).

So, since "Webcam MVP" overrides any Group-title, I'm an exception to the rule...much to the annoyance of Shot Spartan :D

If you recently had been banned or warned, than that might have affected your trust. There are other factors that we don't know about that may have affected your trust.

It must have been some other factor that we don't know about. It seems that a lot of members have went down a title.

Since the community doesn't know every single factor to trust, we don't really know why some people go down a title.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

In reality who cares if the parameters have been changed? It isn't like we knew exactly what they were to start with. If there was a bug I am sure Achronos would have posted that there was one and that he fixed it. As it stands he hasn't so therefor it is safe to assume that everything is by design. So if that means he tweaked them he did so for reasons known to him and the web team and not for us to know.

It is just a title. I know it means more to some people, but in the end you can still post and enjoy the forums, groups, and friends you have here. Isn't that why we are here?

I understand, I really don't care about the Titles, I love Bungie, and love coming here everyday. I was just curious.

It's not that it means anything, and this might come as a surprise to you, but it's a matter of principles.

I would like to think that they implemented the titles for a reason and not just as funny random forum bling that pops up from time to time, if the latter was the case I think they would have told us. Sure it means nothing to you, you're a mod and the only time you even see your own title is in groups. Out here however they're flucuating like some inverted oil prices and always in seemingly strange patterns where old members suddenly are losing their titles while members from 2007 are blessed with lightish grey bars.

So it's easy to say that the titles doesnt mean anything and therefor we should'nt be discussing whether or not they're accurate but that is not an explanation as to why they are behaving the way they do. I'm not asking for an in-depth explanation of every parameter but it seems like they could have saved you, the mods, some work by just saying we changed a thing and what you see is the result of that and prevented 10 new threads on this topic.
The titles strikes me as the new "search feature".

Thanks for the thread, it really explained most of the questions I had about "Member Titles".

Subject: FAQ on Bungie.net Membier Titles / Bar Colors

Sometimes when I look at the moon at night, my mind embraces the thought of a love so vivid and true that I almost believe it is real. Then, due to my delusions, I am forced back into reality and begin to indulge myself in real life vices such as chocolates and German board games to get that once natural high.

That is the first rule. Don't talk about it!.

-On Topic- At least I can pretend to have all these fancy titles in my group.

Does the SUPERINTENDENT face really change depending on your level? Or is that chart a joke?

So on your little thread meter I'd be orange.
