Got a bit of a question: Does anyone have a clue how long you have to be a particular member for it to "lock in." I understand the trust rating system as well as I can, but I'm curious as to if there's a certain amount of time before a rank locks in for a user.

I point this out because I recently noticed I'm a Mythic member and I remember being one a while ago, but losing it only a few days later. I assumed that it was because someone who had a higher rating than me ranked up. But I remember fluctuating between Heroic and Legendary before "locking in" to the higher rank.

This just mainly peeked my curiosity is all.

Your rank never "locks in".

You always have the ability to go down in rank.

All counter-arguments to evolution are based on a gross misunderstanding of the theory.

I think there should be a title after "Mythic"

How about, "Divine?"

"Intrepid Divine Member"
or
"Fabled Divine Member"

Pretty cool if you ask me.

Its a case-by-case situation.

For some people, it doesn't take that long.
For others, it takes forever.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

This, it depends on posting habits, previous bans, severity of previous bans, if you've taken a deal of time off before, warnings, etc.

When enlightenment is the question. The Answer is Pain.
When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.
When love is absent. Hatred fills the void.

Yeah, I mean it took me about two or three months to get mine back...

And everyone that was Legendary that got warned from that thread is just getting it back, and I just got mine.

Is getting a ban the end of me ranking up? I got one small ban but I still haven't been promotd to herioc member.

There is no "ranking up", it's just a title system for your profile on a gaming website.

When was it, and what was it's severity (3-day, 7-day, 14-day, etc)?

lol in other words, no receiving a ban does not mean the end of you attaining a higher title, it simply means it will take a bit longer.

Or a lot longer, depending on ban severity.

Well I think I should be close to Herioc and Interpred, I post at least 50 times times a day and am very active.

Bans hardly affect Intrepid or Fabled at all. I've been banned six times (all minor, but still), the most recent of which was about a month ago, and I just got the Fabled title for the first time the other day.
Because thats your prefix, it relates to post's that you've made not your ban history, you've obviously acquired a higher prefix because of your posts!

Even so, it should remove or demote your prefix, since a ban demotes/removes everything at least once. I've seen only a rare few where nothing has happened.

Back when I got got back from a week-long ban in December I was a normal Member for a day or two before my Fabled Status kicked in again.

Why?? A ban effects your trust points its got nothing about your post history?? Therefore why would it effect your prefix, thats about the amount of posts you've made!?

Because it does?
We really don't have an explanation as to why, just that it does. My guess would be having something to do with it's posts over time, though.

I can understand it effecting the 'title' though. ;D

Edit: Although i've seen multiple posts bout members being banned/warned and then the next day regaining their old title?

Does being in a group count as trust?

Does being in a group count as trust?

It's speculated as yes, but not nearly as much as the Public Forums, since there's Bungie Moderators in them, and such.

  • 02.04.2010 9:11 PM PDT

When enlightenment is the question. The Answer is Pain.
When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.
When love is absent. Hatred fills the void.

Yeah...people do think that it counts, posting in private groups.

But I would agree that posting in the forums will benefit you more.

  • 02.05.2010 12:27 AM PDT

I remember hearing somewhere that posting in private groups contributes around a quarter of the trust points then posting in public forums does.
