Of course, due to my "special" circumstance, Achronos might have given me a +10,000 trust points (very random and very not correct guess) automatically for all I know.

Wow, he just randomly gave them to you?
NO NO NO NO NO!

Read, please.

I said "might have" and "for all I know", not "did" and "for a fact".
That makes me wonder. Does becoming a mod give you an increase in trust points?

That's the only reason I mentioned it. Obviously, moderators don't need "trust points", because they are moderators. I was a moderator and I left in good standing (unlike some others, possibly), so there is a chance that when Achronos implemented the trust system, somebody like me possibly got a "boost" due to the fact that I was obviously trusted enough to be a moderator.

And as I said, since I wasn't as frequent on the forums for a couple years, that may be the only explanation for me having my current title.

PS: I tried to highlight the key words to show that I don't know for sure anything that I am currently typing.

I'm pretty sure that they remove your ban/warning history when you become a mod. I thought I heard it mentioned somewhere when the new batch of mods gained power.

If it ain't gold, it's speculation.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

I suspect that, once earned, base trust cannot be lost. When banned, a user has a huge negative trust modifier attached to their account, making them a member no matter what. After the ban lifts, a modifier is attached, the size of which probably depends on the severity of the ban, and maybe your ban history.

When you're inactive, you probably get a negative modifier, which gets bigger the longer you are away. Once you return, I'd guess the modifier goes away (after you've proved you are becoming active again) and you retain your original base trust.

You often see members who were banned, all of a sudden bounce up to their previous title, or more interestingly, above their previous title. So even though you have a negative modifier after a ban, you seem to continue to earn base trust.

I think I may have wandered a bit, but what I'm trying to say is, if you proved yourself trustworthy months/years ago, being gone for a while shouldn't hurt your trust. Yes, you may have changed, but I like to think it's an optimistic system, and it assumes you are still a trustworthy person.

Only a month or so until I get Exalted.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Let's hope nothing 'unfortunate' happens in that time frame.

Tru7h. C4RN4GE. Bungie.

Will I likely rank up to Mythic closer to my second year of activity here, or my third year of activity?

Most likely your third, maybe even after that.

My Theory

Depending on what you do on this site you gain/loose some sort of point (lets call it exp.) To gain a title you have to earn a certain amount of exp. There is also different types of exp for doing different things.

Activity exp- Depending on how active you are monthly, weekly, daily, hourly, etc. you earn Activity exp.

Post Count- Every post you make you gain Post Count exp. You gain more exp depending on how long your posts are and if they are relevant to the thread.

No ban or warning exp- If you are not banned or warned for a certain amount of time you earn No ban or waring exp.

Ban, report, or warning exp- If you are banned reported or warned you gain Ban, report, or warning exp. This will make your record look bad.

There'd also be age experience. Also, take post count and just tack it on activity, because it seems the prefixes recognize it as a together thing. Finally, there's been no substantial evidence that you will receive a permanent effect from infractions, think of it like the modifiers system mentioned above. Still you pretty much have the right idea.

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

I'm sorry, but people will give you your average. Unless you post the same number of posts consistently everyday, then it is totally random. Some days I post 1, others I post 20+. You can download Greasemonkey and download the script for PPD to find out.

it might help, but it is not needed. There are plenty of Mythics with no linked gamertags.

I bet, in 3 years, Skibur will be back on bungie.net and posting as much as he was prior to becoming a ninja.

Not that I'm basing this off of experience or anything...

And to stay on topic: Still wtb Majestic Epic (or whatever I posted previously).

Edit: And Skibur was smart, he kept his avatar. I changed mine back to the jester when I quit. :-(

I've never heard that the "Noble" prefix is an anomaly. I thought it was 2 years with no bans. I got my noble the day my account turned 2 years old. Care to elaborate?

I just meant that, in our hypothesis of prefix descriptions, "Noble" does not seem to be very similar to any other prefixes.

It is exactly like Honorable, but with 365 extra days tacked on.

Friggin deal with it

If anyone could clarify something for me, it would be greatly appriciated. I've been a member since 03-03-09, and have 12 pages of posts. On 02-12-10, I made a grave mistake and fed a troll and received a deserved warning of which I am not complaining about. My question is How much will this adversly affect me in obtaining my first title?, and besides adhereance to the forum rules, what else can I do to redeem my stupidity?
