Turned Noble just after two years. Just like clockwork. It seems that theory is nearly confirmed to be true.
I am a confirmation of the above statement.

hi

So is the system completely automated or is there a human element involved? Does the system completely decide who is a mythic or does an actual person help decide that?

Apart from your own actions (getting warned/banned), it is completely automated.

Does getting warned actually affect your title?

Of course it does. What would the trust system be if it didn't?

It can.

One of the newer Ninjas said he was warned a few months before he became a ninja and his title/rank remained the same.

Well a warning would only slightly impact your trust rating, so it wouldn't necessarily mean a title loss.

When enlightenment is the question. The Answer is Pain.
When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.
When love is absent. Hatred fills the void.

Yes, while warnings have a small effect it can still result in you losing your title.

The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

Small effect indeed. Took me down to heroic from legendary, and now in less than a week I'm back to legendary.

Well, I got my first ever warning late last week and dropped from Exalted to Fabled. 5+ years without any sort of "blemish" on my record, but a single warning took it away.

So, I'd say it really depends on the title.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

Yep. Exalted has no tolerance of warnings or bans. Honorable seems to be the most forgiving, and noble is somewhat less forgiving, which isn't surprising.

What I'm curious about is what ban related prefix (if any) is being "hidden" by the Fabled prefix. Are you Noble? Will, in a year, you become Exalted again? Or will it take 3 more years without any sort of warning or ban to become Exalted again?

Heh, that's all one can do. I'm interested in seeing how long it may take for it to "reset", but I just have to make sure to stay out of TU's way... just in case I did something else to him 4 years ago that I forgot about. :-D

I received my only warning last year and went from Exalted to Noble. One year later the Senior prefix took over, so I believe the same rules still apply, 3 years for Exalted.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Damn, dropped to Heroic. Well, to be fair over the weekend I wasn't very active, but retained my Legendary. Weird.

It's not like I really care, but my Mythic title is taking ages to get.

So far I have been blacklisted 11 times. Is the hope for changing title still lost?
Not at all. Bans lose their influence overtime; provided you stay out of trouble for a while your title will change.

What about a situation like mine where a year ago I was banned. Then 9 months to a year later I'm banned for my second time, *more accurately I was banned a week ago.* Does this mean the possibility of me getting my heroic title will restart back to waiting a full year to receive the title?
Sorry, I'm just a bit confused.

Just in case you were unsure, I don't know the subtleties of the title system. I'm just a regular member who was given the [evil cackle inducing] ability to bop people with a hammer. But as to your question, from evidence gathered overtime it is obvious that bans don't reset the waiting period and tend to 'expire' after a few months (I believe it is around 3-5 months for short blacklists, although as I said I have no idea).

Would I be correct in saying that the webmasters dont reveal the title system in the same way bungie dont explain most elements of the ranking system to simply avoid manipulation, and perhaps keep us discussing something we will never have any idea about?
Smart cookies.

That seems logical, doesn't it?

The titles wouldn't have such "Mystery" to them anymore and we wouldn't want that at all. No need to know how it works, but it is fun to try and figure it out for some.
