Get over yourself - drink vodka!

I keep bouncing around, without bans or warnings.
I think my PPD in the public forums is just so random that it can't associate how likely I am to contribute... or something.
Oh well, I should be back to legendary by tomorrow after a good evening of activity.

Ahh yes, and just as expected. I posted a thread last night and of course I'm back up to legendary. At this point it must be confirmed posting a thread increases trust. I've done this several times already. Anyone else have a similar experience ?

Earlier this morning I got on the Forums and posted twice after not being on the site for a while, and BOOM, I'm up to Heroic. I always thought that if you're off or barely active that your rank would slowely decrease, but I guess that's not how it works.

I was away for 5 days and kept my title, it is indeed a strange system!

I was away for about 2/3 months, then came back, so "yes" they have a strange system indeed.

My theory is that depending on specific variables (such as join date, post count, etc) you always retain your trust modifier. Say you go inactive for a while, it would only take a few posts to get you back to your previous title, rather than completely starting over. I think this is a fairly plausible assumption given the fact that people are gaining their ranks in only a day or two after inactivity. Some people are even getting them back instantly.

I understand, not sure if it would make a difference or not, but I haven't been a Heroic Member before, and two posts into a 2/3 month vacation and I just get it randomly. Very, very weird, but I do believe that it requires all Trust, Post Count, and Join Date to calculate your Title. They all have to meet a certain hight in order for it to raise, well that's what I think.

We're a Bungie.net group that goes to our very own Bungie server. Most players are from the Halo community either off Bungie itself or through word to Halo friends.

I have a question about the ranks. There is "be active" and then "high post count" and "don't get banned"

The base titles should only be affected by how long the account has been owned because that's what they mean.
the prefixes for base titles are the ones that get effected by how many posts or bans you have.

SO REALLY, if someone was a mythic member and got banned, it should NOT take away their mythic title, but only the prefix right?

Naw. Account length is not the only thing that matters. If it was, we'd have every 2001-2007 account being Mythic. Prefixes can be affected by post count. I'm Fabled- and apparently that's post count. Or activity. But if base titles weren't affected by bans, then I wouldn't have gone down to 'fabled member' when I was last banned, instantly, neh?

SO REALLY, if someone was a mythic member and got banned, it should NOT take away their mythic title, but only the prefix right?
Other way around. If a Mythic Member got banned, it would take away their Mythic, but only possibly their prefix (depending on what prefix they have).

But the mythic and legendary and so on names are ONLY for how long you have had your account. that it was it says.

It says if you're active for that duration of time.
But in addition, bans affect it. I know this from personal experience. Member length counts, yes. Someone with no bans who posts 50 times on his first day isn't going to be Mythic despite an average of 50 posts per day and a 0 ban history. But it has been proven beyond a doubt that bans affect the base title, yes.

active doesn't mean post count otherwise they would have said that just like with the other ranks.

You cannot depend on this thread for absolute fact. In reality, very little information in this thread is considered fact. Most of this thread is theories created from personal observations.

Its obvious that mythic is not simply the age of the account, or, as burrito said, we would have a ton of mythics around here <.<

Oh I see what you're thinking. Allow me to explain:

Duardo has no more information on how this system works than any of us. That post is not 'officially' how it works. You should not take it as fact. More like wikipedia. I'm promising you that it is NOT simply member length. I'm not making this up buddy.

La Mer is a group I've made for all aquatic subjects. Come check us out if you like.

Became Heroic again, this thing needs to decide whether I'm Legendary or Heroic.

If this is the state of my art, then I secede.

I went from regular member to legendary almost instantaneously, all without having a prefix. It hasn't fluctuated from legendary to heroic either.

um... what?

Did you have any bans or warnings last year or sometime this year? Because it might be that your trust points you lost when you were banned have been given back to you.

That very well could be it. I was banned like 3 months ago, and it was a week ban (then reduced to a 3 day).

Well bans disallow you from posting on the public forums, so that means your activity will stop, losing trust points.

Quick Question: Is Intrepid and Fabled related to your post per day average or your total posts?
