"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

Perhaps, Fire, you've been posting quite a lot and been very active, and because of that, you are switching places with another heroic who is less active. That's my thoughts on the subject, which means post counts would have something to do with it....hmmmm....

I really doubt quoting someone have anything to do with it. It's be like me just putting "THE CHIEF 87" in my post. They're just words, nothing more (IMO). If quoting were the case, however, one could create two accounts where one would post the other's name a billion times, and instantly that one member could become heroic. I really doubt that.

Perhaps clicking on someone's name, however, or messaging them has something to do with it?

I've been as active as Fire for several months, and I even lost my Heroic title the other week in the middle of a post. Perhaps because of the age of his account, he is considered "super" active for posting so much in so little time. His trust factor might be inflated.

I don't know if this has been said or anything, or that I was on the line, but I had a thread that a ninja posted in and after that I got my Heroic Status back? Would having something like that have a bigger increase in the value?

I seriously doubt it. The Ninjas are just members of the site with a few more tools to use. I believe it's the individuals themselves that gain the "experience" or whatever to advance to the next title. The Ninjas only affect it by giving out warning's or bans, which falls back to the individual.

Either something is wrong with my browser, or did just about everyone get a new title?

There do seem to be more Heroics, and a few more Legendary, but thats it
And also ?.... Do warnings lower your trust or is it only bans?
Of course I seem to remember there not being very many legendarys, but that was when I first started in the forums.

. V . . . . Well then how am I back up to Heroic? I mean I got a warning about a week or something ago?

I see three new Mythic members too.

Both are supposedly bad to your trust rating.

I think those 216 post are saying something. I've been here about 10 months with 1 warning and not being active for a one or two months. Trust Points are questionably trustworthy. I made a trust-thingy.

It's not just you, I see a few more Heroics, a few more Legendaries, and a few more Mythics.

Great title Mess-up of 2008 part two, or is this actually not a glitch(which has to be because I really don't know why I'm Legendary)?

One weird thing is how easy it is to become a Heroic Member, and yet Legendary seems to be like catching the rain. I was once a Legendary member, but not anymore because I replied to a Recon thread with a picture of Lord Helmet from Space Balls as the new Recon.

Shouldn't Heroic be harder to earn?

Ok, I now believe activity has something to do with it, whether it be small or big. My question is, what is the definition of activity? Does that just mean how long your logged in or does it mean how many posts you have?

I average 28.4 PPD.

Post counts were proven to not be a factor but the system has been changed since that.

*giggles* You guys aren't so special now ;) I noticed that quite a few people were de-ranked a week or so ago and then are suddenly back to the normal rank or, in some cases, are higher than they were to begin with.

This was my case--I lost my Heroic about three or so weeks ago, got it back a few days later, and now have lost it again as of Friday or Saturday night. I am confused and therefore frustrated.

How is a reward system supposed to function when no one knows what behavior is being rewarded? Oh, but I'm not supposed to care, right? Again, how is a reward system supposed to work if you aren't supposed to care about the reward?

I'm still trying to attain my lost mythic status. With no luck.

How can your title not be back yet? I know for a fact that a member from 7/XX/2005 is Mythic and he was just warned. This system sure works in mysterious ways. The only thing it seems to reflect is the moderators current moods.

i can't really tell you how long i've been an active member
but all i can tell you is that at the beginning of halo 2, i saw the bungie.net tag at the end of someones GT, and was like 'DUDE, THAT'S SICK!'
since then i've been a member, a lot more active in the past year and a half or so, and it got me here!
