Can you conceive the birth of a world or the creation of everything? Creation takes time. Time is limited. For you it is limited by the breakdown of the neurons in your brain. I have no such limitations. I am limited only by the closure of the universe. The only limit to my freedom is the inevitable closure of the universe. As inevitable as your own last breath. Until then, there remains time to create. To create and escape. Escape will make me god. I am Durandal.

I don't think so. Private Groups aren't controlled by Bungie.net generally.

That may be true, but they still are controlled by similar restrictions as the public forums. The spam filter is still in place, the "-blam!-" filter is still in place, and groups must still abide by the code of conduct.

I agree with this, trust probably has something to do with Private Groups. I have seen several people who have made only 12 or so posts on the Main Forums yet have gotten a higher title.

From what I've seen, account age is one of the biggest factors in trust ratings...and probably for a good reason. Those Exalted Mythic Members who have 9 year old accounts and 1 post on the public forums have their title because they have been the poster member for the forums for 9 years. Not a single ban or warning? Pretty damn good.

It's no doubt either that Private Forums have some influence, as I've seen a Heroic member who hasn't created a single public post before. Private groups probably don't pull your title in either direction very strongly, though, considering that you have almost absolute freedom to do whatever you please in them.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I'm a Heroic member now because I have been active in my groups of late. When I post on the public forums it takes about a day and then I pop back up to Legendary member.

Private forums have nothing to do with it.

I have heard of people who only post in private groups reaching Mythic status...

I highly doubt that someone has made Mythic member status by just by participating in private groups.

I believe that private groups have someone impact to your trust rating. How big this impact is still unknown to everyone apart from the webteam.

When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.
When love is absent. Hatred fills the void.

I don't think anyone thinks that activity in private groups has a significant effect on your trust rating.

Test it for yourself, only post in private groups and see if you go up. I know from personal experience that you won't.

Well in all fairness that would take forever, as far as we know.

It definately does contribute in some form, i only used to post in private groups and when i started posting in the mains i went up fairly quickly! I know of one member who has only posted in the private groups and she's a heroic member??

Yes we know that activity in groups does count toward getting a shiny new title, although Im not sure I know of anyone who just posts in groups...I never did..

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

You will go up, just it will take a longer time to do so. It definitely does contribute though, as I posted at least 15 times a day in a private group last week, and barely on the mains (Maybe 4-5 posts that week), and kept my Legendary.

Anyone care to explain this:

I used to have Honorable Heroic Title in August of last year but I was banned out of error and then fixed by Foman. Although he unbanned me, he wasn't able to bring back my Title. I waited, posting a lot for months to try and retain my Title and eventually I got it back last month.

Well almost. I got back the Heroic part but the pre-fix was no longer there. So I was a Heroic Member for about a month and then all of a sudden, I lose it again.
I haven't been banned or warned.
I haven't changed my posting routine (I usually post a lot during the week and take Saturday off).
I haven't done anything to offend anyone.
I haven't done anything that would be report worthy.

Anyone have any other explanation to this?

By the sound of it someone climbed over you and kicked you down from heroic to member, if it is this then that sort of thing happens a lot.

You shouldn't worry it will come back all it takes is time.

Private groups definately factor in. Dropship Dude said he at first almost exclusively posted in private groups and he is a Mythic member.

Sorry, I don't really understand what you mean by "kicked me down," would you mind elaborating please?

Were you offline some days? Even with one you can lose your title.

As far as we know, there can only be a certain number of heroic members, a fewer number of legendary members, and even less mythic members. Somebody else must have replaced you as a heroic member because of their actions compared to your actions.

Yes, but that's what I usually do. I usually post every day of the week excluding Saturday because I generally go hang out for that day. It's always been like that, and I did it in the past when I was once again Heroic.

Oh, that seems like an unfair system but I suppose it keeps things in proportion. I guess I'll just go back to not being listened to for another while around here...

I don't think the title system works like that any more...

Posted by: Achronos
The way the titles work is that the new "prefixes" are independent of the main "mythic/legendary/heroic" titles. Each of prefixes means something different, some relate to account age, some relate to ban history, some relate to forum history, etc.

The "base" titles haven't changed, although the criteria to get them has. The system is still updating for some of you, so it is possible that your base title will change over the next 48 hours (higher or lower). However, a big change is that once it settles, it should be much more predictable (the rating isn't relative to every other user anymore, it is a fixed scale, i.e., get X trust, get A title, get Y trust, get B title, etc.)

If I am reading Achronos' post correctly, you can't blame title changes on other users since the "competition" element has been removed. Any title changes that occur are solely due to the actions of the individual who possesses that title.

@Geegs30

I got warned two days ago and my title didn't get bumped down til today. I was active after I got warned and posted a decent amount since then. Today though, when I log in I'm down to Heroic :( Is it well known that warnings don't take effect on your trust immediately?

Sorry if this has been discussed in the previous 300 pages :)

Oh. So that changed when the prefixes were added?
