I don't think it would have an effect, because what if the OP says something later in the thread that caused it to get locked or banned. In some cases I have even seen a thread get locked because the OP was banned in a different thread. I don't think that it would effect your title.

When enlightenment is the question. The Answer is Pain.
When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.
When love is absent. Hatred fills the void.

Yes, I didn't think so....but still I had to ask.

It wouldn't seem right for a persons title to change simply because they were unfortunate enough to post in a thread such as the one I previously described.

Intolerance is the highest level of stupidity and inbred thinking.

From past experiences I can almost 100% for sure say posting in a locked thread, or having your thread locked has no affect on your trust, and if it does it is very minuscule. I have had threads locked quite a few times by request (it was going off topic, people where trolling, etc) and a few by my bad judgment. Not once has my title even flinched from having my own threads locked, yet alone posting in another thread that was locked.

Locks having an affect on one's trust would not make much sense as stated above. For all we know the OP is innocent, and why should they been punished for the actions of others?

Question, and I'm not sure where to put thiis, but this seemed like the right place. I've been a member on this site for a little over 5 years and have banned once which dropped me from mythic to what I am now instantly. Would it ever be possible to get it back again?

Indeed. I haven't had XBL for a long time, but I still come on her everyday.

Yep, all bans and warnings only act as temporary impediments on your trust rating. Remain active and out of trouble, and you'll once more be mythicz.

Cool, thanks for the quick reply.

will my title improve if i never post in pulic forums (this is probably only my third time ever) but i am active everyday in private groups?

Does anyone even read these?

Yes.

Much, much slower, however.

I know these are only theories, but this description really doesn't fit with my title. Been active for 2 years, but not everyday. Maybe, that has something to do with it.

EDIT- NVM. It disappeared for no apparent reason.

How much does a seven day ban put a damper on your trust rating?

I don't know. I'm rarely active on this account. If you look at my post history you'll see that my activity on public forums is infrequent. I go for long periods of time without posting at all, and I do not log in every day. I'm not active in private groups, either. Despite all this, I have maintained the title of Honorable Heroic Member for quite a while.

I'm starting to think that account age plays a major role here. It seems that, even if you post infrequently, you'll have a much better chance of becoming Heroic if your account is at least a year old.

I believe it plays a major part. I have seen alt accounts that are 4 years old, have not posted on the main forums for 2 years and only log on once every couple of months and have reached a higher title by logging on for a couple days in a row and posting in forums.

Very.

I just got my Legendary back :)
It's weird because I was just warned a week ago and dropped down to Heroic. Does that mean that I was at a pretty solid Legendary before my warning?

The first time I went from Normal to Heroic it only took a week for me to then jump again to Legendary. Apparently the system doesn't like keeping me at Heroic for very long.

You must have gotten Warned or Banned less than a year ago then. The Noble Title only comes after you have been here 2 years without a Ban or Warning.

The title isn't strictly regarding your join date. It's presumed that activity is factored into it, and having a clean slate as far as bans go for about one year.

  • 03.16.2010 4:34 PM PDT

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

Honorable, Noble and Exalted all seem to require no activity besides logging in once a year to keep your account alive.

Example 1
Example 2

Note that receiving bans or warnings may or may not make you lose the prefix, depending on severity/number of bans/warnings, and which prefix you have. Exalted seems to have no flexibility.

Thanks, I had been wondering about Noble. The OP suggests both membership and activity requirements, but I guess it's just a strict 2-years of membership.

:) Then I'm 1 month from Noble... if I don't do something stupid.

I have noticed that the regular title comes quicker than the suffix. When I first got Legendary member it was a couple of weeks or months before my bnet birthday, then on my bnet birthday it switched from Honorable Legendary Member to Noble Legendary Member. I'm sure you guys already knew this but just thought I'd add that.

Honestly, this must be a joke. Child, listen, stop trying to defend yourself because clearly you are incapable of it. The only idiot in this thread is yourself, and trust me, it is obvious. So, how about you do as I asked earlier and log off, mommy and daddy wouldn't want you staying up this late.

I'd go with that, 'active' is hard to quantify so if you're activity wasn't as much as the OP defines as active it would take you longer to get heroic.

Bans don't help either, I can guarantee that.

I who walk alone in this world wrapped in the arms of the past not knowing what lies ahead of me. What am I? A soulless being to be beaten by the rage of those who hate me? Cutting my way past hopes and dreams. Sit in the window sill as I do every day and night resignations on my slate of who I am and what is left behind. Concealed in the words that chases my every thought. I who walk alone in this world…I am broken
