Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

I read alot of posts and look at bungie.net most weekdays, but I only post in forums when I feel I've got something worth saying (this being an exception ;p).

I've been a bnet user since 2003 yet I'm only a Legendary Member. I'm assuming this is because I don't post, create threads etc enough?
I've seen lower post rates. I'm honestly surprised you don't qualify for Mythic right now.

But activity would probably be the answer, yes.

If you sign on everyday and post a couple time, by now, you should be Mythic.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I love how I have never had a cool prefix like most of you have. I might have once but I really don't remember.

When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.

That sucks Recoil, you should have a really cool prefix.

Nah, I feel unique. And If I did, I wouldn't want "Noble", only losers have that prefix.

Oh, I mean I wouldn't want "Absent". Excuse that! I should receive "Veteran" status on the 14th of November this year. That will be my 4 year anniversary.

All our dreams come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

*Is Jealous*

Not really, but If I 'wanted' any title or prefix, it would be Veteran.

How I think the Member Titles and Prefixes work

I think that to increase your title and prefixe you need to do the following:

1 Be active every week

2 Have a LOW number of warnings and bans like one of each every few years

3 Have your XBL gamer-tag linked with your bungie account

4 Post a thread or reply at least 3 times a week

5 Join Groups and be active in them

6 Post in more than one forum

That's what I think, now I know I am probably wrong but these are the KEY areas that I think you need to for-fill in order to increase your Member Title and Prefixe.

Having XBL linked to your gamertag has nothing to do with your Bungie.net rank. The same goes for joining and being active in private groups.

Posting in more than one forum isn't really that big of a deal. I stick mainly to the Septagon and the Flood and I received my title eventually.

Also, I've only created 4-5 threads in my time spent here on Bungie.net. Creating threads earns you points in the Trust System, but I don't think it gives you more points than just regularly posting.

Achronos has explained the trust system that us used on Bungie.net, and from what I gathered you have everything right on that list, except for things I mentioned.

Everything is interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

Unlink your tag and I think you'll find it does. Usually it bumps people up quite a bit. You'll see people who have been around for a few years and as soon as they link their tag, their title jumps up. Elements of game participation...

Private groups probably also have an effect.

Groups and linking your Xbox LIVE Gamertag does increase trust, read the OP again, and look at Achronos' posts.

It's also very easy to see, as people usually get bumped up if they are active then link their gamertags.

  • 03.27.2010 12:52 PM PDT

Look at this... I'll have Legendary status one week then Heroic status the next. This title system is confusing me!

  • 03.27.2010 1:13 PM PDT

There are soooo many mysteries to it.

Ah, you are correct. I don't know how I missed that the first time. I hadn't thought about the gamertag bump before, but now that you mention it seems plausible.

Okay, so ARBITOR 5, you were right. I didn't know what I was talking about. =P

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

Here's a question: is there priority placed on creating threads, as opposed to just posting in them, in regards to 'activity'?

I would think that creating a thread would have a higher trust gain than just posting, but posting gives you more overall since there is a limit to how many times you can create a thread every day, as opposed to you can reply an unlimited amount of times.

It's just an educated guess.

It can be done manually, but only by Superusers like Achronos. Normal Moderators cannot influence the title system besides bans and warnings that reduce it.

Jokes about deaths aren't funny.

Carter out.

I've been banned 14+ times, one of which was a perma which I had to deal with Achronos directly to have removed. I was an "Intrepid Member" when I last signed on a few months ago or so, I come back and I'm a "Fabled Legendary Member." So all I have to do is get banned and not post for long periods of time and that Mythic is in the bag!

When Ignorance is the problem. The Answer is Blood.
When love is absent. Hatred fills the void.

Not if you get perma banned again.

But it would certainly seem that way...
