I've been banned 14+ times, one of which was a perma which I had to deal with Achronos directly to have removed. I was an "Intrepid Member" when I last signed on a few months ago or so, I come back and I'm a "Fabled Legendary Member." So all I have to do is get banned and not post for long periods of time and that Mythic is in the bag!

I doubt it, and there can only be 200 Mythic's.

Link or source of this information please?

I know there can only be a certain number of Mythic members, but how are you so certain it's 200?

Its somewhere in this thread I think...I have a little dig for you...then I'll edit this!

EDIT:1
Right here are two links, Achrono said some where but I can't find it sorry...
1)
2)
That ought to do :)

EDIT 2:
Just thought I would say, the CAP on the Mythic base title changes quite a bit.

you must post a tom and have an extremely early join date if you've gotten up past member after 14+ bans. There is a Mythic Member cap, so you would have to pass up another Mythic to achieve the title. I doubt you would be able to get it with such an extended ban history.

is it a automatic system?

or do the mods pick who gets what titles?
it's automatic although it can be done maually I think?
It can be done manually, but only by Superusers like Achronos. Normal Moderators cannot influence the title system besides bans and warnings that reduce it.
I don't believe Achronos has ever said that anyone has the power to manually change a user's trust rating. In fact, what he has said on the subject seems to indicate that he is strongly against any form of manual input for a trust system.

"Any system that uses a 'rating' of a user must not allow subjective input"
"I've said it before: systems that require manual input (so-called karma systems) are flawed and subjective"

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if he could in fact manually change a user's trust, since it seems that he can do just about everything that someone could do on this site. However, since he has not confirmed that he or any other superuser has that ability, we cannot assume and tell others that ability exists with 100% certainty. Doing such would be spreading misinformation.

Here's a question: is there priority placed on creating threads, as opposed to just posting in them, in regards to 'activity'?

I doubt it. I am intrepid, and make maybe a couple threads a year...

Intrepid is post count, not activity. He's wondering what the weighting on threads vs. posts is on the trust ratings, in terms of activity.

I meant in terms of he can change anyone's title to anything, such as Employees with special titles, as well as he can edit security roles (such as adding new Forum Ninjas). I didn't mean that he can influence the standard Member Titles, (even though he most likely can) besides issuing bans and warnings. Sorry for the confusion.

Ah, I see. I see.

These are some interesting hypotheses, but like always, I'm more curious to hear the final say on this from Achronos or one of the webteam members.

10,800 from bungie.net for "LordOfBlah51".

I'm guessing at least half of those would have to be your posts.

Two weeks probably doesn't effect the system a lot but any more and you may have been 'demoted'.

You think that's strange?

I just woke up to a Mythic blue bar this morning.

That's similar to what happened to me. I logged on one morning last week, and I posted in a random thread here in the Septagon, and when I looked at my post I saw 'Honorable Heroic Member', and I was like OMG!

This system confuddles me, too. :/

I'm leaning more and more on this vague assumption that your title can, sometimes literally, change overnight.
(with certain amounts of activity, and no bans, etc. of course)

It happened to me with Heroic, then I bounced back and forth around there for a few days, until the dust settled on Heroic, so to speak.

And pretty much the same thing happened when I got Legendary.
I won't be surprised if my Mythic bobs down for a few days and comes back when I least expect it.

Again, like many others have said previously, this system is very unpredictable.

I have a PPD of about 7.89 so average about 7 PPD for about six or so months and you should get it.

I know what you mean, the same thing has happened to me when I first got my Heroic I was like "yay!" the same thing happened when i got my Legendary title too...I had been thinking that this could happen when I finally get my Mythic.

Btw...nice new title...only several hours ago I saw you were Legendary.

Oh, thanks a bunch.
And really? It was Legendary earlier?

That's weird because I had signed out a few hours ago because I was watching Back to the Future.

I didn't see it change with my own eyes, but somehow I believe ya.
You may be onto a different sort of "title-bobbing" time frame, I guess I'm going to call it.

I'll keep you posted if it changes again in the same day, or in the near future anyways.

I would have expected to have something higher than "Honorable" by now. I've had Honorable for like a year now, I almost want a new Prefix rather than a Legendary Member!
