Positive vibes.

Now lets say you get banned permanently, but then the ban is taken off. Are you ever able to earn another rank back besides the standard Member rank?

Well, that kind of depends. If the permanent ban was reduced to a shorter one, it'll still go down in the books as a 2 week, 1 month, 3 month, ban. If you were somehow vindicated and the ban was removed from your history, you wouldn't be impeded from gaining a new title, I'm pretty sure.

But yeah, you can get a higher title either way. It all depends on your ban history, and how high of a trust rating you had before you were banned.

i have 700 something days on my account and PPD is 0.11. that bad?

How do you not post? 0.11 thats crazy, i mean i just got back into bungie (wasn't on here for a year!) and i just can't get enough of bungie! But its not bad so long as you don't get many warnings and bans, but you will probably go up slower through the titles if you don't post very often.

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

You guys. The PPD script is a crude math machine that takes all it can track, your last 300 posts, and puts them over the span of days since the earliest post in that collection. If you post 300 times in one day (lolwut), it will not at all be correct with your previous activity.

Somewhat more than the amount of time you were banned, but when it comes off it'll all come off. So let's say it takes a year, you might find yourself a member one day and legendary the next.

I like to think of it as putting a cardboard box over a kitten, once you take the box off, there could very well be a cat in there. Unless of course you hadn't been feeding the kitten, make sure you feed your kitten (by posting). And don't get any more bans or else more boxes will be over top of your kitten, and then it will be even longer until you can see his cute little face.

...where was I going with this again?

Thats a good way of explaining...I sure you would do after time.

I would like to add an odd instance to this thread...

Not two days ago I was a Noble Heroic member and today I am just a Noble member...

I find that odd because "Noble" is the ban/warning related title and "Heroic" is time related. I know I have been here since before Halo 3 came out (I think). I wonder why I suddenly lost my time related title when I certainly didn't go backwards in the amount of time I've been here.

Time is just one of the many factors involved in titles (such as herioc). Someone might of just surpassed you in trust rating and earned ("your") herioc bar out of it.
If that makes sense, I'm too tired to properly explain.

Sorry, I can't hear them over the sounds of Modern Warfare 3 on my Turtle Beaches.

Tomorrow marks my one-year membership here. Does that mean an instant Title/Prefix change or is that only for the Honorable prefix.

Promotions don't come on your anniversary of sign-up am I correct? They come randomly and are dependent on your "trust points" and activity and how many times you've been warned/banned, right?

"Losers Never Win" or is it "Winners Never Lose"
Secondary gamertags: IMurpheys Law, a XBL gamertag, my dog Caine, Fear Phobos

I believe the title's should also reflect how many games one has played across all XBL Halo games too. For example, I've played over 17,000 Halo 2 games and a little more than 7,000 Halo 3 games, shouldn't that account for something as well? You would think in game experience would correlate into more knowledge of Halo in general, for example I've seen some mythic members that has only been a member for a couple years and has played less than a 1,000 games and maybe 10 Halo 2 games.

Bungie, if you guys ever decide to do some adjusting to the title bars and prefixes, take into account of actual in game experience. I believe that should be a big part of the equation.

I agree with this to an extent.

If you've at least played Halo 2, Halo 3, and ODST, then that shouldt give you a slight boost in trust points compared to the user who is posting in the Halo 3 forum with "No Games Played" in Halo 3.

Same for the Halo 2, and ODST forums.
See what I'm saying?

I also agree, and believe that it is already taken into consideration. A kind of way to make sure your account isn't some alt. There was a theory posted a while ago about this, but I'll have to look for it. Basically I believe that it was agreed upon (not a fact, just an agreed upon opinion) that by linking your GT and playing Halo does improve your trust to a degree. It may not be a lot, but it is a way to show that your account isn't just some alt.

Amount of games played would be very dangerous to link to titles. Would give boosters more motivation...

Love your Halo 2 Games don't you...yeesh. Yeah and your Halo 3 rank, that would be cool, and your RECON!

so if Im honourable and I've been on about every day and made a post ever 2-3 days shouldn't I have heroic? or do I have to post even more???? like what is defined as active?

No one knows exactly how the system works, but I think its the general consensus that 1 post ever couple days isn't usually considered active enough to warrant a rank-up. Remember that the number of Heroic members is a set number of the population (same with Legendary and Mythic). So in order for someone to move up into the next group, someone in that group has to first move out of it to make a spot for you (by either moving up to the next level, or down a level). Going off of that, you'd have to find a Heroic member that is less active on a daily basis than you are, most likely over a pretty good period of time. You'd also have to be at the 'top' of the list in terms of members who qualify for Heroic in terms of activity, which, with only one post every couple days, is definitely not the case.

In short, you'll have to pick your activity up for a certain period of time before you'd probably move up.

Yeah like me, I was an Honourable Member then I started posting loads...Now i'm a Noble member with a PPD of 37.5 (the highest I have ever had is 52 dead on!), but that is not the only factor to increase your rank, linking your XBL GamerTag helps a lot as well as many other things...
