All our dreams come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

Meh, it went down in my sleep. It's usually always in-between 40-50. If it gets to about 50, it starts to go off the charts, as if the guy didn't expect people to be that active.

Meh. You're still newish. Just wait.

Lurking takes over everything.
I just don't see how someone can post 50 times a day and it not be regarded as spam. I can't imagine someone posting anything decent if they did post that much. Although, I have been proved wrong before.

I suppose you have to take into account the unnecessary amount of new threads per hour posted in the flood, which can be easily posted in and not regarded as spam, technically. Whether anything interesting or useful comes from these posts, is an entirely different question, but in essence, I suppose it technically isn't spam.

Well, you see... I'm sorta "Mature". You actually seemed a bit surprised. Must not happen often?

I try to refrain from spam as much as possible, I only post when I need to, never anything that didn't need to be said.

I don't think that ^ post was any of the above that you mentioned.
Being fair, I suppose there are exceptions to every rule.

If I thought it was necessary to spam the flood forum with say, porch threads, would you regard it as spam? Why yes, you would, and I would be banned. Same concept applies.

Okay, we're starting to get extremely off topic. If you feel the utter need to discuss this, PM me, otherwise lets drop it.

Apparently.

Although this post will be extremely ironic if I jump to legendary in a few days.

Is there a limit to how many Legendaries there can be? Such as 200 Mythics at one time?

Apparently not anymore, as a while back I noticed a gigantic jump in mythics/legendaries.
Most of the mythics/legendaries I used to know by name, or played with. Nowadays everyone and their grandmother has a blue/gray title.

I'm not a fan of the title system, at all, but eh. Not much I can do about it, as there have already been threads.

Recently, I was a Noble Heroic Member, now I am a Noble Member - since earlier this day. I am unaware of me being inactive for as long as two days in the last week, and have not been banned or warned. (If that matters for losing Heroic status) So I'm not asking for a re-promotion, just a reason why I was lowered - just curious.

It means that there is someone else with about the same amount of trust points as yourself.
The best thing you can do is to stay active and your title may return in the near future.

Trust me, it happens to everybody.

The system has not determined member titles by using comparisons for years. Thing is, he's either not active enough or, I hate this, he somehow got warned and was not told of it. It's happened to me before.

  • 04.27.2010 1:54 PM PDT

Well, he said he wasn't banned or warned, so I just assumed he wasn't part of either.

But yeah, if you're reading this JDOSH, you just need to be more active is all.

  • 04.27.2010 2:25 PM PDT

Yep!
Unfortunately, they seem to have structured the title system (and we seem to have noticed it) in a way that only allows a certain amount of people in a certain base title.
What does that mean?
Competition, contest.
But whatever

If you want a nice color bar, you need to be (more) active. (than other people)

Okay, guys! I'm almost certain posting in Groups does effect your Title, in a good way! I was posting a Group yesterday, and BOOM, "Legendary Member". Almost proof that it works.

It might not work if you're constantly active in nothing but groups, but I think it's sign of appreciation for knowing how to maneuver around the site, knowing where everything is and knowing how to join and post in Groups.

This totally isn't stated anywhere in this thread at all! Great job!
/sarcasm.

Bit much, but you get my point. It's been known for a while that posting in groups doesn't do as much as the mains, but it does do something.

Hence why there are mythics in the average joe's that you NEVER see on the mains.

Honorable - No bans/warnings in about 1 year. If banned/warned, you may or may not keep the title, depending on length/number of bans. Source
I guess I am one of those that "keep the title".

Success.

Hmm, I've only been a Heroic Member for not even 2 Months, already got my Legendary? Maybe it has something to do with my 40-50 Post Per Day?
Your PPD is 37.5, and that is quite a lot. There's probably no other reason why you got promoted to Legendary (besides being Honorable, perhaps).

I'm just glad I finally got my Legendary back. It was sooner than I expected.

how do you know his posts per day?
Sorry I was late to replying to the both of you (Rooster Boost & joe campbell). I've been pretty busy for the last couple of days.

Either way, I have a GM (GreaseMonkey) script that actually calculates a member's PPD on a (I believe) daily basis. To be more specific, it's primarily for Firefox users, as GreaseMonkey is an add-on for said Internet browser.

I'm using the Stats script to see my PPD, sadly enough the count stops at 50, and I'm certain mine should be around 60-70. What number does your script stop at? I'd really like to check it out, so if you could PM it to me later that'd be sweet!

Also, I use Chrome about 99.9% of the time, so does it work on for Chrome as well?

  • 04.28.2010 2:03 PM PDT

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

The scripts both work the same. And fact is PPD isn't that reliable honestly. All it does is show the average of your last 300 posts over the amount of days since your oldest post. Rest assured if you post fifty times a day you're pretty damn active.
