You're right, I must have taken that post the completely wrong way. Still, I thought that the system wasn't based on post count. Was I misled when told that it wasn't?

I don't think you were misled, but people seem to lose their title when they don't long into their account for a long period of time. I'm not sure if it was the fact that they had not logged in a long time OR they had not posted in a long time.

I'll look into it.

Oh, another thing: Remember, most members who recently got a higher title are usually on the edge, which can cause them to lose their title. This might what be is cauing the newer Heroic, Legendary, and Mythic Members to go down. When they lose their title, there appears to be a person who gets a higher title. Perhaps they switched titles?

Like me, The Day I got back from vacation I was heroic (22nd), the next day, I was and still am a regular member.

From what Achronos has said...it appears that in order to get "higher" you must be active. That means posting a lot, creating topics (maybe), and perhaps other stuff. But it seems pretty clear that posting does indeed help.

Such is the case with one member who had 117 posts within his first two days of joining, becoming a Heroic Member.

Canada isn't that important that it needs two of the same threads on page one.

How does 1 blacklisting bring me down? I have been very active and good and have been a heroic for a long time. Thats what I don't get. :(

These hands you see before you will end the light of day. Your ashes will be cast into the wind! Your blood's upon the soil, your body fed to wolves, not one of you will be left alive...!

Hand of Doom by Manowar

Awesome job, thank you. Hope i'll get higher than "member" one day XD

Blacklistings have a SERIOUS affect on your trust. Let's think of it this way: Why should the web team trust someone who broke the rules?

Pretty much...

I was a Mythic Webcam MVP at one point....regardless, the titles/colours aren't of that great importance, it's the actual quality of the input that matters.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

YF (Gotta love the Happy Jumping Grunt.)

of course you have to love the jumping grunt but i don use it cuz i love blaming stish for messing up the launch code sequence for Stand Off's defense missles

I agree.
I was a Mythic Member at one point, too. I have no idea why my rank dropped, but it doesn't matter that much really. I've seen plenty of mythic members around whom have their rank solely because they've been registered to the forum for 4 years, not because of anything they've posted. Some are even complete a-holes. Duardo is one of the Mythic brethern that I have upmost respect for, there should be more members like him.

So I read the rules and do not see any mention to what I am about to say. I stopped playing halo for a couple months to play GTAIV. In that period I hadn't really checked the boards and when I came back I noticed I was downgraded to Member when I was Heroic before. Does the fact that you do not contribute to the community affect your member score?

EDIT Nevermind...I think Duardo answered in an earlier post...makes sense

You have to stay active.

You have to stay active.

Not entirely, I just lurked the forums for 4 years and became a mythic member.
Though posting does definately speed up the process, it isn't required I believe.

  • 06.27.2008 11:04 AM PDT

It probably is just to show you care but if you take a long break you will still probably rank up

  • 06.27.2008 12:49 PM PDT

I am confused. I was a Legendary member. I hadn't visited the site for a month or two and my ranking dropped to member.
I am sure I hadn't received any moderator warnings, etc.
Is recent post count a factor now?
